Ideally located in the heart of the Imperial district, opposite Metz-Ville Railway Station and Pompidou Centre, the Alerion hotel offers views of the town's historic monuments.

Friendly staff, good location near the station. Discounted parking across the street - need to ask the reception for a special ticket at checkout. Quite a big room, nice beds.

Semecourt is pretty much a dump, with nothing that I could see to recommend it as a tourist destination. It's part of the industrial/commercial complex of greater Metz - so one shouldn't expect much. However, for me, it is a very convenient point in relation to travelling to and from Calais, because the trip on the free motorways of Belgium and northern France, given that one has to take into account the length of time on the ferry, is easily accomplished within the day.
