The spa was good - had massages and used facilities
Good bar with atmosphere
Rooms were well decorated but a bit small - had a deluxe room and didn’t see a space difference to the two standard rooms save for us having a bath.

Very good lift infrastructure, good links to the other valleys. A bit of a hike to/from the slopes at each end of the day. It's never going to be a beautiful town, but we were ther for the skiing which was great.

Best ski resort ever, fantastic place, the way all lifts are skiable to (the contour of the ski run past the resort), the layout, it is expensive but there were a good variety of bars, restaurants, shops, supermarkets and activities. There is a feeling of people wanting to help I had an issue when I had been skiing all day (about 6 hours) coming back into the resort I could see Sud still running and skied down to find it shut, I was stuck there and my options was to walk back up or get a bus, one or the snowmobile drivers saw me and came down to me, he had some thing to do said he would be back in ten minutes to give me a lift, came straight back I am for ever grateful just so helpful gave me a lift up to the ski in point for Carn, cannot praise Thomas enough what a guy, and what a great end to the day (that could have been difficult for me) a ride up on a snowmobile. Such a great place !!!

It’s a perfect ski resort.
It’s a perfect ski resort. Great for skiing and a great night life and food. We particularly enjoyed meeting our friends most days at the Igloo de Val Thorens . The actual igloo is a must see and very friendly English people who speak French. The perfect place for light lunch or just a drink with a great view of the slopes
We loved getting the piste basher in the evening which took us to a restaurant on the slopes
Chalet du lac With a set menu
You need to book in advance asap
Tango is great for a sit down meal or a relaxing pizza with friends on the sofas .
Johns is a great restaurant, you must book as it’s Tinnie and always busy
We did try quite a few restaurants and all the food was great

A ski resort that caters to both experienced and inexperienced skiers (such as myself). The ESF (Ecole du Ski Français) has very experienced and professional instructors. The sheer number of pistes and the pristine conditions are a sight to behold. There are numerous options for après-ski, catering to all tastes and budgets while maintaining an excellent atmosphere. Val Thorens makes you feel secure and at ease.

Most (if not all) of the hotel (Le Val Chaviere) rooms have view to mountains and ski sloaps.
Access to ski area and lifts is literally direct as you exit the hotel ski room you put on skiis and go directly to lifts and cable cars.
Hotel is very close to city center (5min walking distance).
The ski resort is immense with many options of activities for non skiers - sled and/or tube tracks, zip line (need to see age and security restrictions).
A good option is also the sports center with many indoor activities including swimming pool, sauna and relaxing wellness options.
City has plenty of restaurants and small supermarkets.
Some of the mountain tops are accessible for
Pedestrians - so you can enjoy the beautiful landscape.
