Situated in Snowdonia National Park, Penhelig Arms has a waterside location at the mouth of the Dyfi estuary. It offers fresh seafood and a range of other dishes, and has a real log fire in winter.

Room was excellent value, typical of an 'OLD' hotel with steep stairs, clearly spent some money since we last stayed, Staff could not be faulted all excellent. Breakfast was disapointing although still fairly good value. Overall well recomended.

Situated in Borth, Dyfed 23 provides accommodation with a heated pool. It is set 6.9 km from Clarach Bay and features full-day security.

I really liked the veranda and the latch on the gate which meant I could let my dog out without worrying about her. The huge windows at the front and smaller side windows meant that the stunning views could be seen easily. The woodland walk just a short walk from the property was wonderful. I heard many birds including a woodpecker. I was only staying at the property as an overnight stay to break up a long journey by public transport. It was during the Easter break for schools in England, but before Welsh schools broke up. I was very pleased with the price of the property. The property was very clean and comfortable, with extras, including several blanket throws and coffee, UHT milk & sugar sachets. I was on my own with my dog so we slept in the living room so she wouldn't get fur in the bedrooms. It was stunning watching the sunset, the moonset and the sunrise through the huge windows. I was really fortunate that Wales was in the middle of a very warm sunny spell. I would highly recommend this property. The only negative is that the small room only has 2 fold down camp beds with mattresses on top. Therefore they are very narrow. However the seating in the living room could easily sleep 2 people/children.

A basic Welsh town with the advantage of a lovely estuary and scenery , particularly to the north. Don,t expect haut cuisine , just decent standard grub. Drive north and the scenery is stunning if the weather is kind.

Beautiful apartment, lovely calming decoration. Included everything you could need for a comfortable home from home stay. Just across from the beach. Plenty of places to eat out, coffee shops, pubs, deli and ice cream shops. Lisa, the owner was exceptional at answering post booking queries. She also communicated brilliantly about things to do in the area, places to eat, and accommodated our request for an early check in. First class, very welcoming.

Nice town with just a few shops to browse and a number of places to eat, drink and relax. The beach is wonderful and goes on for miles so no overcrowding and can be very calming and peaceful. Lovely vistas.

I love this town - it’s small, and amazingly clean. I went most the weekend not wearing shoes (except in the restaurant!) I didn’t encounter any dog mess or litter - yet I never saw anyone tidying the streets. People just seem to respect their surroundings! The locals especially staff in pubs are so so friendly and you speak to so many random people! The beach is huge and sandy, with lovely dunes at the top and clear sea to play in. There is never any trouble in this town, me and my partner sat outside at a table until 3.30am talking and it was so quiet…I would be quite happy walking home from bars alone at that time of morning!

Would suggest booking beforehand for any evening meal - 'The Dovey Inn' gets very busy (we went in the school holidays) and it is essential for you to reserve your table - 'The Seabreeze' restaurant is exceptional but ditto. Great area for walking and as a base for other things as it is also well served by the train - could easily visit Barmouth or Harlech or the Ffestiniog Light railway (or the nudist beach at Morfa Dyffryn!). Don't forget the Osprey Centre at Ynys-hir!

We wanted to visit Aberdyfi because my husband went to the Outward Bound centre 64 years ago and had been in touch. We were invited to revisit and he was given all the paperwork relating to him. He had excelled! That was the main reason for our visit but he recalled it being a lovely place and it certainly is. Font Haul where we stayed was excellent.

First time staying here but we will definitely be back. very comfortable hotel with lots of space to chill and relax. Wonderful views, fantastic position. Staff are very attentive and friendly. We booked dinner both nights and we were pleased that we did, very high standard and excellent quality. Bedroom was a standard room which is what we requested, we would probably book a larger room and / or with a balcony when we return. But the room we had was more that adequate for our 2 nights.

Beautifully appointed room with excellent facilities and proprietors were very friendly and helpful. My only concern was the location of the property in Aberdyfi itself which is located at the top of a very steep hill. For young and fit people this might not pose a problem, for the more elderly and/or those with mobility issues, it would be. However, if you have a car then it's simply resolved with plenty of parking down in the town.

Amazing location in a wonderful seaside town. We love Aberdyfi. This apartment is very spacious, ideally sized for our family of 3. In fact we enjoyed our holiday so much we have already booked again for summer 2025 albeit in one of the other Westhaven apartments...
