Aberystwyth is the perfect Welsh seaside town.
Aberystwyth is the perfect Welsh seaside town. It has an all year vibrancy thanks to its world class university. You can never tire of the view out over the bay. There is an excellent narrow gauge railway The Vale of Rheidol offering rides up the valley and a fascinating railway museum at the town station. A good example of a victorian seaside town but not on the scale of Llandudno. Plenty of things to do for a couple of days but be prepared to travel within 20mile radius of so to see other villages and landmarks if you want to fill a week . We were only down for a day / night and the weather was fantastic but would have struggled if it was raining . Very pleasant little town. Lovely to walk around and enjoy the views, especially from Constitution Hill. University, Constitution Hill, Castle and war Memorial very interesting. The promenade was well kept and the evening murmuration of starlings to their overnight perch on the pier was fascinating. It’s a wonderful mixture of seaside, old style beach and university. Walked up to the monument on PenDinas, town castle is a great visit. The prom is a lovely 1 mile walk .
