My friends (3 ladies) and I booked this hotel and we were a little worried that the room might be a bit small. We'll the room was perfect, plenty of room and plenty of coat hangers. Bathroom was huge too, and very clean. Considering the hotel is a pub and restaurant, the there was little noise. Breakfast choice good and food good. Location good and no problem getting in the car park.

Very nice room set in newly refurbished floor above a nice bar/ restaurant.
Staff were lovely on check in and the Sunday lunch was excellent
Room was large with a fridge with fresh orange, milk, jam and croissants
The bathroom was very clean with a shower cubicle with rain shower head
Bath is in the room that kind of connects through to bed/setee/tv area - (though no door or curtain)
The room looks great with exposed stonework and 4 windows bringing plenty of light
Sadly no breakfast at the harbour inn but the old boatyard across the road (and no doubt several others) does
Only thing was room was a little cold (couldn’t get heating on in the night) and would have benefited with a thicker duvet or a spare blanket but mi or details really.
A lovely town and friendly inn. Recommended!
In the heart of the village of Warkworth, this 18th-century coaching inn offers 3-star hotel accommodation less than a mile from the Northumberland coast.

This is a very friendly hotel and we were made to feel very welcome. It’s exceptionally dog friendly.
The staff were really lovely and made our stay.
The hotel is in a great location (apart from the road noise in the day which they can’t help). The room was spacious and well equipped, including bowls, treats, a towel and a blanket for the fog.
There are pretty little walks in all directions a BnB d of course, the castle which stands proud at the top of Warkworth.
The fruit salad at breakfast was wonderful. We weren’t so keen on our evening meal. We would definitely stay again. Thank you to all the staff.
The Sun Hotel is set opposite Warkworth Castle, on the banks of the River Coquet. This hotel features a traditional pub housed in a 17th-century coaching inn.
Born in area and so no real worries about the area.
Born in area and so no real worries about the area. The hotel is nicely set on the outskirts making it accessible for the beaches and countryside area. There's lots of places to visit but would recommend that if from outside that a bit of research would be useful.

Amble is a wonderful place with a lovely harbour area with plenty of restaurants and cafes and artisan craft pods. A special mention for the Fish Shack for an amazing sea food experience a must if you like seafood!!! Not cheap but worth it. A lovely high street where you can get almost everything. You can walk easily to Warkworth Castle and into Warkworth along the estuary. Only seven or so miles to Alnwick which has lots going on. We didnt venture far as there was no need to. Amble is a really lovely town with very friendly people. Cant praise it enough.

Amble isn’t the prettiest place, it feels like it’s seen better days and its shopping street is tired but as a base to explore Northumberland it’s a good choice. It also has 3 wonderful seafood restaurants and felt like a friendly little town overall.

Amble is a nice village with some nice cafés and bar/pubs. The harbour is a nice area to visit with some lovely little hut shops and food and drink establshments
It's a great place if the weather is fine but not too much to do if its raining.
It has a small beach but it isnt dog friendly during peak season in Amble, other beach's on that coast are especially bamburgh and its stunning at early evening when the castle is all lit up. Its worth the travel up to the beach there while you are in the area. There are, also many other local places to visit too.
The sculpture trail is a nice thing to do.
Warkworth is nearby and has a castle to visit and public houses and couple of shops if you want to use the beach there make sure you go at low tide.

Was cold for July but we enjoyed it.
Was cold for July but we enjoyed it. Hotel was a bit far out and absolutley no taxi service on a Sunday evening. One firm did offer to come from Alnwick for a £15 extra charge! Lovely quaint fishing village with antique shops and pubs .

Amble is a lovely town with lots of amenities and walks within easy reach. Many of the cafes and pubs are dog friendly too. The town is flat so easy to get around and there is plenty of parking - even on a bank holiday weekend.
