Set in private grounds, the 17th-century Eshott Hall offers luxury bedrooms with period features.

Lovely and quiet. Beautiful grounds very well kept by gardeners. We stayed in Red Rum and it had a gorgeous bathroom Very warm and cosy rooms too. Staff amazing nothing too much trouble. We didn’t do dinner but the breakfast was excellent with lots of choices. Would definitely recommend.

The Red Lion Inn Alnmouth features a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Alnmouth. This 5-star hotel offers free WiFi.

3 breakfasts on offer. I had all 3. Full English, Kipper & Continental on my 3 mornings. I like variety. Coffee in a cafetière was very good. Piping hot & smooth. Good step-in shower. Good controls & volume. Good towels. Downstairs bar was cosy. Parking in November is fine.

Born in area and so no real worries about the area. The hotel is nicely set on the outskirts making it accessible for the beaches and countryside area. There's lots of places to visit but would recommend that if from outside that a bit of research would be useful.

Amble is a wonderful place with a lovely harbour area with plenty of restaurants and cafes and artisan craft pods. A special mention for the Fish Shack for an amazing sea food experience a must if you like seafood!!! Not cheap but worth it. A lovely high street where you can get almost everything. You can walk easily to Warkworth Castle and into Warkworth along the estuary. Only seven or so miles to Alnwick which has lots going on. We didnt venture far as there was no need to. Amble is a really lovely town with very friendly people. Cant praise it enough.

Amble isn’t the prettiest place, it feels like it’s seen better days and its shopping street is tired but as a base to explore Northumberland it’s a good choice. It also has 3 wonderful seafood restaurants and felt like a friendly little town overall.

Amble is a nice village with some nice cafés and bar/pubs. The harbour is a nice area to visit with some lovely little hut shops and food and drink establshments It's a great place if the weather is fine but not too much to do if its raining. It has a small beach but it isnt dog friendly during peak season in Amble, other beach's on that coast are especially bamburgh and its stunning at early evening when the castle is all lit up. Its worth the travel up to the beach there while you are in the area. There are, also many other local places to visit too. The sculpture trail is a nice thing to do. Warkworth is nearby and has a castle to visit and public houses and couple of shops if you want to use the beach there make sure you go at low tide.

Was cold for July but we enjoyed it.

Was cold for July but we enjoyed it. Hotel was a bit far out and absolutley no taxi service on a Sunday evening. One firm did offer to come from Alnwick for a £15 extra charge! Lovely quaint fishing village with antique shops and pubs .

Amble is a lovely town with lots of amenities and walks within easy reach. Many of the cafes and pubs are dog friendly too. The town is flat so easy to get around and there is plenty of parking - even on a bank holiday weekend.
