Lovely warm welcome by receptionist. Very helpful. Newly refurbished rooms- nicely finished. Very clean. Lovely family room. Comfy beds. Kids loved bunks. Fantastic shower.
Breakfast OK. Adequate buffet. Attitude of waitress / service somewhat lacklustre at breakfast. Service and staff seemed much more upbeat and welcoming in the evening.
Holiday Inn Barnsley has free parking, high-speed WiFi Just off the M1 motorway, between Sheffield and Leeds. This Holiday Inn hotel has large rooms, each with work space and satellite TV.

Everything was great however when we got in the room it did smell like someone had been to the loo 2 mins before we opened the door. It lingered for several hours :( no drama we all poo but wow let’s get some air freshener

Overall it was good the woman we had in the room next to us kept brining in different men until about 3am which was very disappointing as she kept us awake all night left the bathroom in a state leaving her razors shampoo conditioner and dirty towel on the floor

Perfect location with the woods on our doorstep for dog walking. Nice and peaceful and very cosy once the log burner was lit. We would definitely go there again.

Comfortable clean accommodation for the night and well located.
Had a great stay. The only problem was that the tv in my room said, no matter the price you would get a breakfast and complimentary drinks. The first day of my 3 day stay they honoured it but the second and 3rd day they wouldn't. I thought this was poor and it still gave this information ot on the tv.

As Secretary of a fancy pigeon club a group of us travel to Barnsley for the Country's leading show which is held at the Merrodome. Comming from Cumbria it's quite a trip and Barnsley for us countryfolk is a bit daunting - traffic wise ! But always well worth it in the end.
Plenty to see and do.

We chose Barnsley, as it was a good half way home stop, weve been for a 4 night break in the NW Scotland area.
We chose Barnsley because we wanted to visit Cannon hall Farm. Weve watched the farm on the tv so we wanted to see it for ourselves.
The Fairway was an excellent stop over, close to the main road network however was in a quiet stop for a sleepover, the resturant and bar was a bonus, the food was hot, tasty and cooked to perfection. Very reasonably priced. We would recommend both and if in the area, would choose to stay at the Fairway again.

I was in Barnsley solely for an event.
I was in Barnsley solely for an event. For the Big Day Out with the Bar Steward Sons of Val Doonican it was perfect. I can't comment on any other aspect of Barnsley, except that the locals we met were great.

A great place to stay.
A great place to stay. We were a little worried when we arrived as a wedding was being hosted on the day. However, our worries were unwarranted as the event (and afterwards) were separate and quiet from the remainder of the hotel and guests. The room was excellent. Spacious, well appointed and up to date, with a modern, functional bathroom and comfortable bed. Breakfast in the morning was easy and tasty!

This was our second stay at the apt and we will return again. Brilliant location, the building is lovely and quiet. The apt as last time is spotlessly clean, bed is so comfortable, everything you will need for a short or longer stay is in the apt. Lovely touches with the milk, tea/coffee, mini toiletries etc.
View from both the living room/kitchen and bedroom is great, sit on the window ledge for some good people watching. Stones throw from the towns bars, restaurants and shops, parking is plentiful nearby. Dave & Diane are great hosts and keep you updated prior to your stay, cannot recommend enough, wish we could have stayed longer.

Perfect location for what we needed, very quiet so Perfect night's sleep , front facing room with beautiful views over the countryside, good size room, everything you needed, beautiful bathroom with large rain shower very modern, bed comfortable, quite hotel overall, lovely decor in main hotel, lovely small bar area with lovely bar food, good service and friendly staff, would definitely recommend a visit if you're wanting a nice quiet stay, also a lovely old country pub with beautiful food just at end of drive, plenty of easy parking
This was our first stay at an Ibis Styles hotel. It was cheap and cheerful, clean throughout, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good for what we paid. Had a chat with the chef, who just happened to be out front checking things. His whites were just that and spotlessly clean. Good to see! The room was basic but fine for a one night stay, with plenty toiletries and towels, and a second pillow if we needed it. Free instant WiFi.
There was very fast responses from owner to anything which was really helpful.
Location is like 5 minutes walk from centre.
Room was clean and there is Lidl, kfc, costa just across the street.
Safety was priority with 2 key doors for downstairs, code key for entry to room areas and code key to personal room (just make sure you carry a code with you at all times in case you forget it to not lock yourself out :) )
Fantastic location, walking distance from Bransley town centre and there were alot of shops nearby such the ASDA, as the accommadation is self catered, having the ASDA close by was very convienent.
The hosts were quickj and responsive and answered any questions or requests that we had, we were also given a guide at the property of things to do in Barnsley, resreraunts and bars to go to which was a nice touch.
