Miners Cottage offers accommodations in Blaenau-Ffestiniog, 27 miles from Snowdon Mountain Railway and 30 miles from Llandudno Pier.

Lovely cosy, clean and very well maintained cottage, just right for the two of us. The owners have thought of everything you could need from the well equipped kitchen, smart TV as well as books and games. Great having the parking at the back for security and loading/unloading. Location is great for acccess to Snowdonia, coast and loads of walks. Not a large choice of places to eat in Blaenau-Ffestiniog itself but excellent local shops for food, including a large Co-Op a short walk away.

Set within a beautiful Grade II heritage-listed building, dating back to the 17th century, this charming hotel boasts an idyllic setting in the village of Maentwrog, at the very heart of Snowdonia’s...

Staff was very helpful and accommodating. There are steps and no lifts, but the staff helped ups carry our bags up. Its clearly an older building but everything was clean and well maintained, our stay was very comfortable.

Located in Blaenau-Ffestiniog, 0.8 mi from Zip World Slate Caverns, Pisgah Guest house has free WiFi. At the guest house, every room is fitted with a wardrobe, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom....

The wood flooring in the hallway is incredibly creaky and loud. The guests across the hall were in and out of their room for two hours at night, keeping me awake because of the creaky floor just outside my door. It was incredibly disruptive. I’m sure it’s an older building but that alone would keep me from sleeping there again. Everything else was fine.

Located in Dolwyddelan, 16 miles from Portmeirion, Y Gwydyr Hotel - Dolwyddelan has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

A lovely, clean traditional Welsh pub. Easy parking, a lovely beer garden with well-tended flower pots, ambient (appropriate) music and new seating. The hotel room we stayed in was uber clean and smelt amazing and Namthip provides superb Thai hospitality and outstanding food! The full welsh break was superb.

A former 18th century coaching inn, originally part of the Earl of Ancaster's Welsh estate, this comfortable, family-run hotel is full of historic character.

Good Breakfast, freshly made. Old property but well maintained. Very friendly & helpful owners. There is a river / stream right outside the hotel, you can probably spend some time on the sides in spring / summer.

The village its self has a good size coop and nice fish and chip shop, friendlier this time than I have experienced in the past. Not far from betws y coed which is very friendly and caters for outdoorsy people. Not a long drive to the coast or snowdonia so a good base if you don't mind driving. Obviously great for mountain biking (Antur stinog) and if you want to visit zip world

Traditional Welsh ex-mining village/small with a stunning mountainous backdrop. Blaunau-Ffestiniog is definitely a sad relic of a once thriving town although still retains a of charm. Serviced by a small Morrisons and Coop and limited selection of eateries (mainly takeaways). If you're looking for a cosy pub and a dining experience you definitely need to go further afield. The location offers much more cost effective accommodation for Snowdon Hikers compared to that in towns like Llanberis or accommodation nearer the Snowdon routes. If you're happy to drive, the Pen Y Pas car park is about a 30 minutes away and Llanberis about 40 and the route takes you through stunning mountain terrain. If you're looking for a busy, lively tourist trap near Snowdon, Blaenau-Ffesiniog is not for you. If you're looking for cheaper accommodation with alternative hiking routes a stones throw away, you won't go wrong here.

The accommodation could not have been better.

The accommodation could not have been better. Amazing little pod. Fantastic toilet and showers, very comfy beds and clean towels. Staff were really helpful and punctual. However … the location wasn’t for us. The site is a working quarry and with that lorry’s do pass by at a distance. The noise was okay but I suppose the view was not to our taste. It’s would be a great family base for the local area if you want to get the kids away from devices etc and reconnect with each other

It is a lovely little village in the mountains. good walking possiblities. you have two good sized supermarkets. Quiet . you can easily reach main attractions by car. We usually had our main meal lunchtime. but we did have fish and chips takeaway but ate them in local pub. The landlord said we could and enjoyed a pint at the same time.

It's a great location for access to the mountains, walks and the coast, including Porthmadog, Barmouth and the Llyn Peninsula. What's not so great is the limited eating out possibilities without needing transport. A couple of drinkers pubs and a handful of take aways (with not very good ratings, menus stuck on the window with blue tac etc). De Niros did look nice but it's a daytime cafe. The supermarkets are excellent (Co-Op esp), so if you are happy to self cater you no doubt get better value accomodation here than would would in, say, Betws y Coed.

Having not been to North Wales for over 40 years I had hoped it would be more like the idyllic Bettws-Y-Coed. Unfortunately not, roads of small terraced cottages. A couple of good little supermarkets, a poor "old school" type Indian restaurant and a few take-aways. I think the highlight of Blaeneau is the slate mine !

Very lovely, paid for budget (double) roombut it looked like a normal sized room, so that exceeded my expectations. Clean room and nicely decorated, fitted with a smart tv, fan, a desk and chairs (which not all hotels do), good WiFi connection. Comfortable, nice big bathroom with a tub and lots of “storage” space. Dining area also lovely and nicely decorated! Wish I got to stay longer, would come back.

A wonderful hotel in a great location! There is parking available! Everything is very close! The breakfast is excellent! The room is very clean and comfortable, with a view of the mountains! Special thanks for the communication with the staff—everything was clearly explained in advance, from the parking spot to the Wi-Fi, breakfast, and keys. Thank you. I will definitely come back again!

Situated just outside the town, the views from the front of the hotel were fantastic, with seating available in the late afternoon sun and a nice cold drink after a days touring. The facilities in the room were very good with a generously sized bathroom and good sized towels.

The location of the hotel was perfectly placed for visiting both Zip world and Portmerion and the surrounding areas. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. The breakfast was the best we have experienced.
