We were met in the car park and immediately offered help. Our rooms were ready and provided exactly what we requested. The tour of the guest areas was a lovely welcome. The attention paid to my elderly father was appreciated.

The Howard Arms and the Lucky House Chinese are excellent, the small high street has everything you need for a short stay. We also visited the local Indian restaurant Star of Inaise, which was fine although we are spoiled with our local choice's. The local area has some lovely walks and has Hadrian's wall running through it. You can get lovely views of the area after a short walk up moat hill. Brampton is just a short drive from Carlisle which has everything you need, cinema, restaurants, trampoline park and many pubs in botcher gate.

There is a lovely food market in the village for fresh meats, pies, home made baked goods and home cooked ready meals etc. But the village also offers a great choice of takeaways.
The Howard Arms was a lovely place for a Saturday evening dinner.
Really easy to access local tourist attractions

Brampton is a quaint small town with a local play area for children.
It has a selection of places to eat (but none are fine dining.) It is quiet and safe. There is a farmers market on Wednesday and Saturday. One food store ‘Cranstones’ sells quality meat and other produce.
Brampton provides ease of access to Hadrians Wall and other key landmarks in northern Cumbria.

Nice country town, with surprisingly good shopping, including three antique shops, an excellent and very competitively priced vintage clothes shop (Fripperies?), and a food hall showcasing local produce, plus a farm shop with great veg available.

Nice friendly b n b the village itself is about 3.5 miles away with plenty amenities for a weekend trip and Hadrians wall is close by, if you want to do a circular hike do some research before you go as we feel they’re harder to find but there is plenty history surrounding the wall to be found in this area so worth a trip for that reason alone.

We didn’t have time to fully explore Brampton but we did visit a very good food hall and there was a very popular street market on Saturday. There are also plenty of nice walks in the surrounding countryside and it’s not far from Carlisle and Hadrians Wall.
Although it’s a few miles from Brampton we would recommend the Duke of Cumberland in Castle Carrock for Sunday lunch.

Spacious property fully kitted out. Beautiful decor and super comfy beds. Ample parking and wifi included. Incredible value for money - would have happily paid more! Stayed here in place of a hotel as no vacancies. Very glad we did! Everything but shower gel/ shampoo included. I was very impressed with washing facilities and washing machine tablets meaning I could do a quick wash before the final leg! it’s the small things like this that make somewhere special.
Excellent stay in a comfortable lodge with everything you need for a self catering stay. Loved the log fire which was lit for our arrival which made it all the more welcoming. Not too far to travel into Brampton and the surrounding area to find things of interest. The lodge is next to the looseboxes of the horses which was nice to see on my morning dog walk. Hosts were very friendly would stay again if in the area.
The Howard Arms is a smashing pub/ hotel, situated in the lovely little town of Brampton. We have stayed here and dined here several times before. This time we came to celebrate our engagement. The food was good and, mostly, the staff were great. The room was light with a nice view over the High Street.
The property was nice and clean and felt very warm and welcome. Myself and my two boys absolutely loved our stay at Brampton cottage and will definitely be staying again.
