The breakfast was very good, there was a good choice. We had porridge with fresh fruit and scrambled eggs. The portions were generous and everything was fresh and well cooked.

Impressed by our hosts who, learning before we came that I am disabled, put up a rail for me to use on the steps! We loved Portree, Dunvegan, Kileakin and Plockton best. Had undelievably delicious meals at Plockton Shores Hotel and a hotel in Portree near the information centre. Freshest of fresh cod (It had been swimming in the north sea just a few hours before)and amazing langoustines. And not at all expensive.
At The Heaste itself we loved the silence and when it got dark the bright moon shining over the loch . Everywhere luxuriously appointed. Gorgeous Egyptian cotton sheets and towels.
There are sheep around. Very white sheep! And cows wearing cowbells. The blue of the water shining in the sun, the varying shades of purple and grey in the hills. The heather and the scent of the air, so different from our own in London.
Road between us and Broadford very narrow and surface not always good. Recommend you come in a small car. But we loved Broadford and the view from ouside the Co op where we bought our supplies.
And the scent of the air everywhere

We stayed a short drive from town.
We stayed a short drive from town. The town itself is small with a few a restaurants but a great place to base for touring Skye. We got takeaway pizza one night from Cafe Sia and dined in at The Sprig the second night. We also did some shopping at the Co-op, which was well stocked.

It had a good supermarket and was well located for access to all points of the Island. It had a nice "beachfront" walk and nearby hill walk too. It was a good spot for access to other locations.

They seem kind of under staffed at the moment.
They seem kind of under staffed at the moment. I’m not sure if it was only during my stay but they dropped the ball a lot. For the price I had to pay to stay there it is not worth it. But the room was comfy and the staff that was there were very helpful, but very over worked.

Nice place and good gift shops and lovely views.
One thing which was awful was the harbour restaurant- thought we would treat ourselves to good meal as advertising in window slow cooked lamb. Overpriced and underwhelming and very rude owner. Do not waste your money here !!

We liked Nothing about the Lodge or surroundings if you are happy to have WEEDS around your lodge and DUSTBINS as a view and don't mind being behind a Hostel and Undertaker, then go for it. The lodge was not equipped for 3 audults, very small, we found 1 frying pan 1small pot, there was no brush to sweep floor, the kitchen units are dated and not fitted well. The showers were tiny. To Sum up initially looks good, but very poor on closer inspection. This is without a doubt nothing but a WORKHORSE TO MAKE as much money out of the guests who stay at this property. Whoever owns this property needs to get their act together as the 6 lodges are no more than an extension to the hostel. GIVE THIS PROPERTY A WIDE BERTH For 4 uncomfortable nights we paid just under £1200, and I do intend to take this matter further with the owner.AA.

First thing I learned was that in Skye reservations should be booked months before the expected visit. But as usually happens, better discovers born from mistakes. In this way I had the fortune to find this place, absolutely wonderful (seaview very relaxing), and with competent and very kind staff (Cris and Mike, a pleasure to met you). Very interesting the restaurant side the hotel. Unfortunately we had no time to use the spa. My experience was very positive.
A nice large bedroom and a big bathroom. The welcome from Donald and Seonaid was very friendly and they were attentive all through our stay. A lovely buffet breakfast with warm croissants! The home baking left for us was a nice touch. We had a fridge in the room which was helpful when you're travelling. Easy parking on site and a short walk into Broadford. Good location on Skye for exploring the south of the island.
Only had a one night stay in Skye but the Broadford location allowed us a quick scenic drive around the Trotternish peninsula and a trip to Elgol and langoustines. Co-op next door was a convenient plus. Our triple room was .. roomy .. and comfortable, albeit basic. Parking was easy. We enjoyed a picture perfect sunset through our window .. marvellous.
