Wonderful hostess. Beautiful breakfast and ideal location for our needs. We even had our washing done by the host. Lovely vibe and enjoyed chatting to the locals who came in for a drink,

Built in 1676 as a hunting lodge for King Charles II, the Speech House Hotel has been refurbished to offer modern facilities and luxurious rooms while retaining its period features.

The property was in a great location. The breakfast included was great and tasty and they provided many options. The room was warm and the heating suffice. The common rooms areas were very lovely and they had comfortable furniture to read books etc. The bed was very comfy and overall the property was very quiet and peaceful. The staff were so friendly and really lovely and helpful.

Located in the market town of Coleford, the Angel Hotel is a 16th century coaching inn with its own restaurant and bar. Free WiFi is available throughout the property.

I had a great short break at the Angel Hotel, Cath and the team were really accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. The breakfast was great and they provided vegan options for me, as well as giving guidance on what might be suitable at the restaurant for evening meals. The room was great value for money and the location is fantastic for travellers who use public transport - the main bus stop from Gloucester is right outside the hotel and this also takes you to nearby areas of interest like National Forestry trails. Would definitely recommend!

Food was lovely. Staff great, couldn't do enough. Great views. Massive bed. Plenty of lights in the room. Balcony was a nice touch. Room restocked and bin emptied. Clean. Lots of parking. Outdoor space at the pub was great and kids play area. Dog friendly. Great woods at the rear to walk the dog. Great location.

We should have stayed in Coleford.

We should have stayed in Coleford. Poor Cinderford, I'm sure at one time it was a lively, thriving town but it's so rundown and everything looks tawdry and tatty. Lots of shops have shut down making it seem quite desolate. Would never go there again.

Leaving the property in the morning knowing that we wouldn't be back. despite having already paid for the second night's bed and breakfast. We drove through Cinderford on our way to the accommodation, and we were not tempted to explore the town any further. It had the look of a town that had seen better days.

Unfortunately Cinderford is never going to rival the Cotswold towns as it is not as old and is more industrial. It has the air of a neglected seaside town. You would only stay there to access the Forest of Dean.
