The room was clean and warm, with all the necessary facilities, and the bed was comfortable. Despite being over a busy pub there was no noise. The large cooked breakfast was delicious. Although no dedicated parking, it was easy to find a convenient on-street parking place.

The rooms were larger than expected, very clean and pleasant to stay in with friendly staff who were very accommodating making sure we were comfortable.
There was adequate sound proofing that helped mitigate the sounds of downstairs and outside.
Very much liked how I was able to book a room on the same day within a couple of hours of our arrival.

The staff were all friendly and polite and there was ample free parking. The room had its own separate entrance which was very convenient. The bed was comfortable and warm. A good cooked breakfast with a choice of juice and cereals was also included with the price for room. The location is ideal for accessing various beautiful stretches of the coastline.

Pipes are very noisy so distibed us most of the night and radiator did not heat up properly. We had to leave a plug in heater on over night just for some warm. Rooms are very dated. Bedding had alot of dust and some dirt sitting on the top of the cover.
Windows are single glazed and did not close properly so the heat that was in the room was not kept in the room. Also made it very noisy from outside noise.

Beautiful quiet location. Staff were excellent and a cracking breakfast to start the day. Easy walking distance to Castle Douglas but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet.

This is a lovely area with good opportunities for outdoor activities such as walking, cycling in nearby forests and kayaking on the Solway coast. If you just want to relax nearby Kippford has pubs with outdoor seating overlooking the pictureseque harbour.

Its is a very pleasant town with reasonable facilities but it is a great location to base yourself and explore the whole of the Solway Coast and the old Stewartry. Eating out options are limited especially if you are looking for dog friendly

Dalbeattie town did not really feature in our visit at all other than the provision of sandwiches and juice for picnic lunches.
We are keen on walking and exploring the countryside, forest walks, Caerlaverock nature reserve, Threave Gardens etc.

Lovely friendly scottish town.
Lovely friendly scottish town. With plenty of eating out options and take aways. Town wood walk and coniston park great for a stroll. For the more active we did the forest walk with fantastic views (would be suitable for pushchair)to Kippford (5.5miles) a lovely seaside village, recommended the Mariner pub for a refreshing drink and or lunch overlooking the sea. The Sun Inn/ Chinese restaurant was a good value evening with great playlist and fantastic food. Birchtree great relaxing bar with very good food.

The Clonyard is set in a beautiful location, perfect for Kippford and the lovely little beach at Rockcliffe, which is about a mile and a half away. It is a friendly family run hotel and dog friendly. The owner's wife makes delicious Thai green and red curries and there is a good choice on the menu. Breakfast is delicious, all freshly cooked.
Room was massive and clean with beautiful views over Dalbeattie. Accommodation was centrally located with plenty of food and drink options within a min walk away, and came with complimentary tea, coffee, water and snacks. Host was very friendly and welcomed me in person.
Highly recommended!
Beautiful countryside location just outside Dalbeattie. The accommodation was spotlessly clean with all the items and facilities needed for a nice break. Pat and bill were exceptionally friendly and provided a lovely welcome pack that included bread, milk, cereals, fruit and yoghurts.
Great location, clean and well equipped had everything we needed, beds comfortable, sofa comfortable, great showers loads of hot water. We holiday in Dalbeattie or kippford every year will definitely be booking the Annex again.
The hotel staff were welcoming and friendly took the time to show us to our room. The room was clean and comfortable.
We had a dinner in the restaurant and breakfast the following morning. Both were really enjoyable.
