Perfect location in the heart of Dartmouth, we had a lovely room with harbour views, it is a lovely quirky old building, a hotel with character. They seemed very short staffed but all working so hard to make everyones stay perfect and always so cheerfully. Respect to them.

Dartmouth is a great little harbourside town with a lot going on. Boat trips, walks, nearby beaches and lots of really good pubs, restaurants and nice small shops to browse through. Virtually everywhere is dog friendly.
We had an amazing grownup meal out at the restaurant ‘Andria’ - we have kids and fortunately could leave them with their grandma.
Equally we had great family meals at Rockfish, the Steam packet (kings weir) and fab ice cream sundaes at Morellos

The town's pubs and restaurants were plentiful and friendly. The architecture and history of the town is amazing. I could have spent more time in the museum. The River Dart is beautiful in many places, and having lunch at a remote pub in the middle of Dartmoor was a special experience. The Steam Railway was another treat.

Dartmouth is a famous naval base with lots of history and a beautiful harbour. Get the ferry and visit Agatha Christie's house and other places.
Lots of places to eat with excellent quality and competitive prices.
Get the bus to Kingsbridge and find out how the driver copes with single track roads and tourists who can't back caravans!
A great base to get a feel for south devon for a week or so.

I spent my early life in Dartmouth and later we returned to Dartmouth for many school holidays and over the subsequent decades I love coming back and think it to be one of the best paces in the world. You can potter around in Dartmouth endlessly and never get tired of it. The restaurants and pubs are fantastic, there are great galleries with fantastic local artists, particularly Dart Gallery on Lower St.
But above everything else there is the most amazing coastline and countryside. In walking distance are Bayards Cove, Castle, Sugary and Compass coves, all of which are great for swimming and watching the sea. And if you have a sense of adventure, a car and do not mind driving the narrow lanes you can head off across Slapton Ley to Lanacombe (very narrow access lane for about a mile), and Start Point for Great Mattiscombe Sand.
And if you would like some watersports and nice day sailing they are all accessible on the Dart.

Dartmouth is a lovely town on the river Dart with beautiful views, shops and amenities. It was smaller than expected but there is plenty to do in the surrounding areas. It’s a great base for a weekend trip of exploring.

The staff were all really nice, they were very personable, attentive and really wanted to please. The hotel is well known to us in terms of location and we were really impressed with the fit-out internally. The restaurant area is very comfortable and welcoming and the food is excellent. We would definitely book again if we were coming to Dartmouth in the future.
In an excellent position in the centre of Dartmouth, this is a really comfortable, beautifully furnished hotel. My room was a really good size with an equally good sized bathroom. Very welcome dog pack for my canine companion. Good meal in evening and good breakfast.
This is a lovely apartment, well equipped and spotlessly clean. All you need for a perfect stay and free parking pass for a nearby car park. In a terrific spot for all Dartmouth has to offer.
