The staff were very hard-working and friendly on the whole. Unfortunately the standards in the hotel have dropped since our last visit in 2022. The furnishings in the public area are stained and worn. The bedroom decor needs refreshing and the bathroom in my room was scruffy. However the room was very clean. We were disappointed that the restaurant was closed on our last evening and the only food available was in the bar which was heaving. We couldn’t go out to eat because all the local restaurants were fully booked. There was no warning to guests of this inconvenience and no explanation. This was very disappointing. Sadly, I don’t think we will book this hotel again in the future.

Dirty the sofa looked like it came from a skip, the chair was stained and filthy in the room. The bar was closed when we came in from the theatre and room service was closed

Great price but there were a couple of issues with the maintenance of the room . Door handle kept falling off, door was hard to lock and the mattress was rock hard. Room was clean and the shower was excellent.

A lovely hotel - my only criticism is the lack of rooms with walk in showers as opposed to over bath showers We were told the hotel had NO rooms with walk in showers
