A Clean room with all that was needed . The small but functional en suite shower room was warm and very clean . We had a cheerful reception and paid £10 for a good breakfast . Good value for money accomodation and surprisingly quiet.

The City Hotel is a lively hotel located in the heart of Dunfermline, just 328 feet from Pittencrieff Park. Built in 1775 the City Hotel has 32 rooms.

The hotel was great, a bit confusing as we entered from the back of the hotel where the car park is but staff quickly directed us to the reception and we were booked in very quickly, we also asked for a hairdryer and iron and both items were brought to us within minutes, staff all very friendly, we had dinner in the bar which was lovely and good value as well

Dunfermline has so much to offer people of any age.

Dunfermline has so much to offer people of any age. Its location, within easy distance of Edinburgh but near to many beautiful and historic coastal towns, villages and beaches, is ideal. Great public transport links to all of these. But Dunfermline itself has lots to see and do so don't miss the palace, the abbey, and Pittencrieff Park and its children's play park (just for starters). We were there on beautiful sunny day and we could have stayed for much longer. All of this was free of charge, which, on a trip with children is a bit of a bonus. There are good shops in town too, albeit the usual suspects. There may be some great independents but we weren't shopping and didn't notice. We didn't eat in town but there seemed to be lots of places from which to choose.

A great smaller city with much to see, especially the Abbey and birthplace/museum of Andrew Carnegie. There is an amazing Tiffany stained glass window in the Abbey - well worth a view. And the Pittencrieff Park is also great for a stroll with a grand view. The Granary restaurant in the library is very good for interesting food at low prices.

Great location, with easy access to motorway' Spacious well lit car park. Immaculate premises with brilliant helpful staff. Only criticism, very high bar prices so used Harvester 200 yards away.

Dunfermline Abbey is a "must see" place.

Dunfermline Abbey is a "must see" place. The museum and library are really fine as well, as is the cafe at the museum! Easy access to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and beyond by bus with much less expensive accommodations. We ate at the City Hotel Restaurant as well as the Restaurant at the Adamson hotel. The Glen Tavern was closed due to an unexpected problem. The Glen Tavern is my favorite restaurant in Dunfermline.

People were so friendly and helpful.

People were so friendly and helpful. The Abbey was such a special place. We never allowed enough time to get round . Again the staff shared knowledge on history and directed us to local museum when we were out of time. Staff in museum were also spot on. Went to local bars like old inn and finished up at a rock bar called Monty’s which was class. The main theme running through this was the friendliness of the people of Fife .

Lovely modern looking hotel, few mins from the main hustle and bustle of dunfermline. Free parking is always a bonus to myself when i choose to stay somewhere. Was a great price we paid for a last min family trip. The check in staff was lovely and was super quick in bringing a travel cot round to the toom when there wasnt already one there like we requested. Even set it up for us which was super nice! The heating was on so the rolm was lovwly and warm, the wifi worked really well. The room was fairly big also.

Second time at the Auld Mill, once again the owner was friendly and helpful, the hotel was spotless and the rooms were comfortable and warm. Only a five minute walk from Dunfermline Queen Margaret railway station. Unfortunately we couldn't have breakfast this time - last time it was great.
