This former coaching inn is now a comfortable, modern hotel, offering en suite accommodations, free on-site parking and free wireless internet access in the public areas.

The location was excellent for me as I signed up to take a battery of classes for the Niel Gow Fiddle Tune Festival and all of my classes were held in one of the conference rooms in the hotel. Plus, this hotel is very conveniently located to all of the other events that went on during the festival, so much so that I didn't need my rental car at all as everything was reachable on foot.

The pods are small but very comfortable and warm. The surroundings are pretty and the facilities were clean and tidy. They provide all the equipment for a fire or bbq outside so it’s perfect for enjoying the night sky when weather allows it.

Dunkeld is a lovely picturesque village.

Dunkeld is a lovely picturesque village. There is a great mix of interesting shops to visit. Lots of tourist attractions locally or just look at the beautiful Scottish scenery and stroll along the river Tay. We stayed at the Dunkeld House Hotel which is beautiful and set in lovely grounds on the edge of the river. Great place to stay for comfort, food and relaxation.

The area is really beautiful and filled with nature plus excellent trekking sites. We stayed at the Dunkeld House Hotel which greatly exceeded our expectations both in food and service, loved it. Nearby we completed the Landrover Experience Scotland, wow, what a fantastic experience!

Great walking in the surrounding forest.

Great walking in the surrounding forest. Pretty town with good eating and drinking options. Often live music in the Taybank. One of my favourite weekend break locations as an easy trip from Edinburgh.

Dunkeld has a variety of short and longer walks. Some beautiful scenery and the walks beside the river are very relaxing. There is a good selection of places to eat and to buy provisions if you are self catering. There are lovely small shops to browse around. Lots of dog friendly places. Interesting tourist attractions. Easy access by road and train. Good base to visit other tows and attractions in the area.

Dunkeld is a small historic town buzzing with activity.

Dunkeld is a small historic town buzzing with activity. Central to the town is the cathedral which is open to visitors, and the town has plenty of cafes and artisan bakeries, as well as small shops selling local produce such as jams and whiskies. The neighbouring village of Birnam has a lovely arts centre and Beatrix Potter exhibition. Overall, this is a great location for walkers, with a series of circular walks within beautiful countryside.

Four of us spent 2 nights at Birnam Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed Birnam and nearby Dunkeld. For us, this was a perfect stop between Edinburgh and Inverness. We had time to walk and to enjoy the beautiful River Tay. We were able to wander and relax. All of us have said that we'd like to return to this area but to spend more time there. We didn't have a car, and a car would be necessary on our next trip because we'd like to see the beautiful scenery.

Amazing apartment, beautifully presented and very stylish. Bedding, towels etc all of good quality and there was everything you could possibly have needed to make your stay enjoyable. Situated in the centre of Dunkeld, lots of lovely shops and great places to eat. We were attending a wedding on the Murthly Estate which was just 15 minutes away and there was plenty of room for us all to get ready in comfort. Suited us better than staying in a hotel.
