Our room was a bit disorganised and we had multiple drafts wich is expected of an old hotel and the floor was clearly dirty

The caravan was modern, cosy, fully equipped. Beautiful view.
Great place to escape from city.
A fabulous seaside town with plenty to do and see.
A fabulous seaside town with plenty to do and see. You'll enjoy it if you love going out for coffee/cake, walks, bike rides, sea swimming, wildlife spotting, attending workshops etc. There's a local cinema, arts centre, popular wine bar, a couple of small supermarkets and plenty of independent shops, cafes, chip shops for a town of its size. Check out the local bookshop, head to Benmore Botanic Gardens, swim at West Bay beach, look out for dolphins at the pier.

We found the local people very nice and helpful but the town had very few really modern eating places. We were there around twenty years ago and were quite dismayed that the area hasn’t improved at all.

Great property near Dunoon! Super hosts! Great Breakfast!
Great property near Dunoon! Super hosts! Great Breakfast! Easy to find right on the main road. We enjoyed visiting the prehistoric sites an hour away. Also beautiful drives around the lochs to get there. Room was cozy, comfortable, well-appointed, had a great view, and spotlessly clean. Hosts were helpful, friendly, and thoroughly professional. Appreciated their texting dinner options before we arrived and suggesting reservations.

Since the US Navy moved out of Holy Loch some years ago, Dunoon as a town has become a bit of backwater, with quite a few empty shops and properties. However the views of sea/river with the mountains behind are stunning, the people are friendly, and if you hunt around a bit you can find several excellent pub restaurants and plenty to keep you busy during the day. Even in "high season" Dunoon is quiet and in the off season it can seem dead, but I like quiet places and I am planning to move there for my retirement.

The town is clean and the people friendly.
The Rock café is a great place for a meal.
The high street is suffering from closed down shops, but that is a country wide problem, so no different than any other town.

Dunoon is a lovely friendly little town.
Dunoon is a lovely friendly little town. We came for the cowal games and to reminisce about our childhood visits to our gran during the summer holidays.
The town centre seems a little tired but the surrounding areas are stunning and definitely worth a visit.

Montague Villa is a lovely B and B near Dunoon. It is well appointed and spotlessly clean. We were served a wonderful breakfast by our hosts the following morning. Our only problem was that the room was at the front near the road and there was a little traffic noise. We live in a quiet area.
The owners were unbelievably hospitable, I've stayed in this area every year for the past 25, years but normally in Hotels, but never will again, from now on its the Clyde View, immaculate room, immaculate on suite and just totally clean, cant recommend highly enough.
Breakfast was acceptable. Location of the hotel was nice next to the sea. Bathroom wasn't very clean. Public areas had cobwebs. No dinner available as chef's mother was ill which was OK but this my birthday treat so didn't go as expected
The caravan park is located in a beautiful area of Argyll. The scenery, even covered in mist, cloud and rain was really beautiful. It was close to the loch and there were several walks nearby. This was the best part of the holiday.
