Hotel was very good value for money. The room and hotel were luxurious. The countryside views were lovely. The bar and restaurant on site was very convenient. The only downside is the road leading to the hotel was very holey and bumpy. The roads into the village were very narrow too (on one side at least and that is the side my sat nav kept using to take me to various places).
In the heart of Dartmoor National Park and 15 minutes from the A30, the historic, Bovey Castle sits high on the valley's edge. It offers a spa and golf course, and free parking.

The Riverside was a home away from home and very good value for money.
My daughter and I found it the perfect location from which to explore the beautiful local surroundings. Kevin and Michelle were friendly, welcoming and their pre-trip communication was exceptional.
Our room and the facilities in general were clean and well-equipped. I read a nonsense review about the room we stayed in being too basic.. absolutely ridiculous. If you want a 40" plasma on the wall, stay in a swanky hotel in London. If you want a clean, comfortable, beautifully positioned, warm and welcoming base to explore some of the UK's most stunning countryside, you'll be hard pushed to find better than the Riverside. We will definitely be returning.
The homemade breakfast was great; the strawberry jam was the best I've tasted! We thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful home-cooked meal at the venue too. Again, it was fantastic value.
Thank you Kevin and Michelle!

Friendly community owned Inn. Good Beer, unfortunately no food available at the time of stay. Facilities were enough for my brief stay during my walk along the Two Moors way possibly too early in the season for the operation to be in full swing. Would like to stay again later in the summer

Host was fantastic and helpful, and all staff were friendly. The small town also had lots of amenities and was well located. Room was incredible with a beautiful bathroom and super comfy bed- was very designer led and loved the octopus mural. We could have stayed longer. We had an evening meal here as well as breakfast and couldn’t fault the food, it was delicious.

The hosts made me feel very welcome and even though I stayed on a night that they do not officially serve food they made me a meal from the full menu that was delicious.
Great place- great hosts - great value
