Our stay was exceptional. We highly recommend Dingle Marsh Barns. Breakfast was superb. The location of the barns was amazing - just a short walk to the pub and the beach and right on the coastal path. The owners were wonderful. The room was very well equipped with lovely toiletries. Fresh milk in the fridge was a really nice touch as was the bottled water and biscuits.
In the heart of Dunwich, this traditional inn offers home-cooked food and real ales. There is free private parking, and the beach is a brief walk from The Ship.
This 4-star hotel is in Southwold town centre, 200 metres from the beach. It offers free parking, two restaurants, a butler service and free WiFi throughout.
Set in an 18th-century, grade II listed building, the Satis House Hotel has 3 acres of parklands and is located just off the A12. Free Wi-Fi and free on-site parking are available.

The breakfast was excellent; and the location of the hotel was ideal for exploring the Suffolk coast The room was comfortable and stylish. The hotel was situated in large grounds with an impressive display of mature coniferous trees.

Lovely Pub, great staff, nice breakfast and really comfortable bed. And the area is spectacular.
Midway between Southwold and Aldeburgh, this modernised, rustic inn has an excellent restaurant and refurbished, stylish rooms. It is an ideal base for exploring the Suffolk Heritage Coast.

Great good, comfortable room although would have liked a shower as well as a bath!
The Randolph Hotel is situated in Reydon near Southwold, 41 km from Norwich and 47 km from Ipswich. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Every room has a flat-screen TV.
We liked most the
- intriguing history of the lost city so well described in the museum
- peaceful location between the heathland and the sea
- excellent food, clean and fresh bed linen
- friendly and helpful staff
- nearness of Aldeburgh, Snape, Walberswick and Southwold
- fresh air like wine

Dunwich is a tiny place but well known in Norfolk and Suffolk for walks and bird-watching as well as the history of the lost town, so don't go there for the night-life. However it is a great base to visit nearby Walberswick, Westleton, Southwold and a bit further Aldeburgh - either by car, bike or on foot depending on weather and mobility. Great area for dog walkers.
We stayed and ate in The Ship Inn, and for the second night we ate at The Crown in Westleton 2.5 miles away.
We were late in the season so the village museum was closed but there was other interpretation around, and ruins to visit. Unless you have a car or bike, you would need to be on a walking tour as it is a long way from anywhere by foot. There is a 6.5mile round walk to Southwold I believe

Pleasant room, tasteful decor and lighting, but overlooking a noisy courtyard. On balance we felt the room over priced.
Great location and restaurant food very tasty and well presented, although insufficient options for vegetarians and vegans.
Staff let the place down; they didn't know where we should store our bikes and also it was our wedding anniversary and we had asked for a specific table to be reserved. This was on the booking, but not followed through by staff on the night.

The beach is fantastic for walking in both directions.
The beach is fantastic for walking in both directions. There are circular walks for those who are fit. Beach never appears to have rubbish and dog friendly.
Dunwich a very small village with really just the Ship Inn and the museum. In the summers months there is a cafe on the beach.
Car parking at the beach is free so a real bonus.

We had hoped, and prior communications had seemed to suggest, that the disadvantages for my disabled/mobility scooter-dependent partner would be fewer than proved to be the case. Partly at least our problem - we should have appreciated the consequences of the age and situation of the hotel. Staff, however, were as helpful as they could be.
Idyllic spot - a very short walk into Dunwich itself. Very comfortable accommodation and an excellent breakfast. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Will definitely return.
We had breakfast and dinner during our 2 night stay and the food was of a good standard. The overall ambience of the hotel and its restaurant was friendly and comfortable.
