It is B&B so dont keep expectations high. Place is in very scenic settings but is quite remote from main city. If is also quite cramped especially the bathroom. Owners were very nice and helpful so full marks to them.

Sarah was warm, welcoming and couldn’t have been nicer. The house is charming and comfortable. Sarah made us a delicious breakfast and had numerous options and choices. We loved her light filled conservatory too.

A fabulous building beautifully maintained, with special touches throughout our stay. The room was stunning, very comfy bed and huge bath perfect for tall people.
Wendy was warm and welcoming and took the time to show us around.
After a long cycle, the freshly made banana bread slices in our room were much appreciated.
Elemis toiletries and lavender pillow spray were a lovely touch.
Breakfast was delicious, and the lady serving was very attentive and happy to help with dietary requirements.

I thoroughly enjoyed an afternoon walk that began just down the road from where I stayed at Weston Manor. Left at the Highdown Inn pub at the end of Moons Hill which is about a mile west of Freshwater Bay; to the National Trust car park, and from there up to the cliffs on a circular, well sign-posted walk, where I saw the Tennyson (poet) memorial or monument which looked great against the sunset as the light faded. Freshwater itself is a nice enough place with all the conveniences, shops and cafe's etc. Had lovely fried breakfast in cafe opposite sainsbury's. The beach there at Freshwater Bay is small but scenic with some huge rocks, like the needles only smaller. I spent a relaxing half-hour enjoying the view of them from the pub opposite, which also does tea and coffee, which was handy as tea is more my tipple nowadays!

The nicest end of the island - not built up, great views of the sea and countryside, ample really good walks - long and short. Less than 10 minutes drive from very attractive, sophisticated Falmouth - interesting busy marina if you like boats/yachts

Friendliness of the hosts; peaceful location - off the beaten track so nice and quiet. Accessible for us as non-car users - we had to use buses to get here from Ryde, and to visit other places around the Island - we had no problems. The 15-20 minute walk from Totland War Memorial bus stop (it got shorter as we got used to the route!) was OK for us - even on the one day it was raining all the way from the bus stop we didn't get too wet. And it was not a problem to walk back to the B & B in the dark, as we didn't need to do that until we had already walked back from the bus stop several times in the daylight. Loved the chance to see the red squirrels feeding in the garden - an unexpected bonus not anticipated before we arrived and were told to look out for them. We enjoyed eating at the Highdown Inn (just round the corner from the B & B so easy to get back home in the dark) - staff and customers there were all very friendly (and when it was busy the sfaff worked their socks off!) and also enjoyed the Waterfront restaurant location and food (although the service was a bit patchy).

The town centre is away from the beach.
The town centre is away from the beach. There is an excellent cafe about 5mins walk away. It is The Piano cafe and I can highly recommend it.
The Dimbola is an interesting museum and also has a good cafe but it gets very busy.

We arrived and Booking.com had not told the hotel of our upgrade. We were exhausted on arrival and there was no other suitable accommodation there. They found us another place on a different site. They were super helpful. However, we had to wait 2 hours from first arrival at Colwell Bay till we could check in at other site. We had food shopping in the car that whole time and a booked concert to get to. I am not confident in using booking.com again. Please can someone contact me about this. Thank you.
If you are looking for the quintessential English B&B stay, Stroud House is the place to stay. The cottage is charming and the bedrooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated. The breakfast area in the sun room has beautiful views of the garden. The breakfasts are delicious and Sarah is a great cook who puts a lot of effort into the preparation, such as the homemade granola and stewed fruit. Sarah is very friendly and welcoming. Freshwater is one of the more scenic areas to stay on the island.
Brambles Kip had everything we needed for a lovely week's holiday; it was modern, clean and comfortable. It has great views of sky and sea - and a lovely wooden table and large window to see them from - or garden chairs out the front. It is in a brilliant spot, with walks both ways along the coast; and a private beach below the cliffs to swim in. It's close to shops in Freshwater, and great pub meals in Yarmouth. The site itself has outdoor play stuff for kids.
The location was really good, close to both Freshwater town and bay as well as only a ten minute drive to Yarmouth. The house was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. The pint of milk in the fridge and little packets of biscuits were a really kind thought. It was also good to be able to park on the drive and not have to worry about finding a parking place every evening.
Not far from Colwell Bay beach and Freshwater centre. Tucked at the end of a local lane it had offstreet parking and the accommodation was in a separate building from the host's property. It was private, quiet, clean and comfortable. Hosts were very accommodating. Good cooked breakfast.
