Located in the picturesque setting of Rhu near Helensburgh, the Ardencaple Hotel overlooks the east side of Gareloch.

Food was poor, our son’s food was dry and reheated. Our food was average, hard chips and old dis-coloured peas. Shower was a dribble, toilet seat was very loose and a cold room. Staff were great and location was great, accommodation needs improvement with the food

Needs more info on parking facilities for guests.

Needs more info on parking facilities for guests. We managed to park across the road from the pub but weren't sure if we could park outside the rooms or not. Breakfast was disappointing in the pub. Wished we had had more time to check out the area but our ferry was delayed so we arrived late. To their credit the chef waiting for us to arrive so we could have an evening meal though.

The Anchor was clean and welcoming. the staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Food was tasty and freshly cooked. We did not bother to go anywhere else to eat. It is a good location for exploring the area around Loch Lomond.

I enjoyed the road from Tarbet to Garelochhead and our stay at the Anchor Inn. The spot may not be the nicest but our evening/night was really nice staying at the Anchor Inn after a good walk in the Highlands.

Garelochhead is not a place you would think of as being suitable for tourism, but it is nice and quiet despite there being a naval base close by. It is ideally located for exploring the wonderful Scottish countryside.

Fantastic welcome from wonderfully friendly and attentive staff. Bar area is very stylish and comfortable. Had an evening meal that was excellent quality and value. My room was compact but very nicely decorated and comfortable. I was looking out on to back of hotel but it was quiet (November) and I didn't have any noise from beer garden. Comfortable bed with good bedding. Good electric shower. Fantastic cooked breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

We were warmly welcomed into the hotel and shown to our room. We enjoyed having the view of the sea and being on the ground floor was very handy.
