Great building, full of character and charm inside. The memorabilia and antiques are an amazing touch, and are located throughout the property. This is done tastefully and in-keeping with the location.
Tea and coffee facilities in the room are flawless and plentiful. You won’t have to be asking for more produce! Every tea/coffee drinker’s dream!
The room itself was spacious and clean. We were in the deluxe double room (called the Blaketon room). Plenty of plug sockets, and the room is laid out in a very homely manner. Nice large TV on a TV stand, makes the room feel like home. The bed is large, well-dressed and super comfy!
The En-suite is lovely, with nice lighting. A stylish wash basin next to the toilet. There is no shower but in place is a jacuzzi bath.
There is parking on-site on the driveway.
Breakfast is the usual mix of cereals, toast and fried breakfast. The latter cooked how you like (English breakfast or whatever combination). The produce is very high quality, especially the sausage and bacon, and cooked well and served on a hot plate. Tea, coffee and orange juice served as standard.
Liz, the owner, is very friendly and responsive. She responds to email enquiries quick and in a friendly manner. She made us feel welcome, all served with a smile! All-in-all you get the impression that she loves her business and wants her guests to have a lovely stay.

This hotel is in the most beautiful of locations, new born lambs in ther fields behind and chickens roaming free around the area form their home in the woodland across a brook. You couldn't ask for a better location. The owners were warm and friendly on greeting. the room was tidy and clean. Evening meal was tasty with a good range of well cooked food on the menu.

People that run the pub are great lads and they are doing a fantastic job but the bed needs a new mattress we got no sleep at all, there was Stains and pubic hairs all over the bedding, we would not stop there again.

Goathland is a really nice place to be, when all is quiet, early morning or evening time it is absolutely magical.
The Inn on the moor and the Mallyan Spout hotel are lovely places to eat and drink unfortunately I can’t say the same about the Goathland hotel.
If you like walking then Goathland is a great place to start.

It's £4 to park there but several places to eat and drink, the Hearbeat locations and the steam trains. Worth a visit even if you are not interested in heartbeat or trains.
Sheep graze throughout the village so dogs must be on leads.

This hotel is a real jewel within the North Yorkshire Moors.
This hotel is a real jewel within the North Yorkshire Moors. Located in a quiet but delightful village, it is perfectly situated for exploring the moors or coast, and of course the added bonus of the North Yorkshire Railway, Goathland station just a short walk away from the hotel. Once visited, most will return again and again.

Beautiful quirky scenic village with sheep roaming free.
Beautiful quirky scenic village with sheep roaming free. It is worth visiting for the steam trains, the Heartbeat connection and some lovely walks. If you stay it is a great base to explore the Whitby coastline.

Beautiful village very relaxing.
Beautiful village very relaxing. Lots of little cafes and shops. We ate at the Inn on the Moor, the food was excellent with plenty of choice. The North Yorkshire Moor Railway runs through the station at Goathland. The station is lovely and takes you back in time to the days of steam railways. There are many walks around the moors from the village [long and short].

A wonderful part of the countryside, if you are looking for peace and quiet it's perfect quite a tourist attraction but doesn't spoil the atmosphere. So many places nearby to keep you occupied if you like, steam trains, wonderful scenery, lovely walks or a short drive to Whitby for fish and chips.

Fabulous accommodation in a fantastic location. Goathland and the North Yorkshire Moors looked stunning.
The Guest house had the most gorgeous Christmas decorations - which made it feel really comforting and Christmassy especially with the snowy weather.
Superb hosting by Peter.
Room was spotlessly clean and spacious.
Delicious breakfast.
Would definitely stay here again.
Beautifully presented, comfortable and welcoming. Great breakfast with fresh baked and local products. Warm drying room for wet gear.
Being at the top end of Goathland it's away from the busy centre and reminiscent of Goathland pre Heartbeat with sheep wandering happily (?). The hosts are very friendly, helpful and building up a lovely guesthouse business.
The hotel was fabulous 👌 people so friendly, we just had one night stay there . We will certainly return in the future. Special mention to Kevin the barman. The beautiful beer garden at the back . Walking distance to scripps garage , aidensfield arms.
The staff were exceptional all friendly and very helpful. The hotel and room was spotless and the food was excellent. An ideal base if travelling to nearby Whitby just located a couple of mins away from the NYMR and also dog friendly.
