Set in Grasmere, 12 km from Windermere, The Little Inn at Grasmere features a terrace and views of the mountains.

The location was superb, peaceful at night , vibrant during the day.All members of staff were friendly and helpful. Very dog friendly. A gluten free menu was available. The room was large, clean and comfortable and the outside terrace was a bonus. The swimming pool was small but adequate, very clean with a pleasant ambiance.

Situated in a quiet corner of Grasmere, this family-run country house hotel offers a modern British restaurant, Cafe Grand At Grasmere.

A wide choice at breakfast. Service was impeccable. The room was spacious and extremely well equipped. We had a private patio with the most beautiful view. We look forward to returning.

The Daffodil Hotel and Spa offers contemporary luxury on the shores of Grasmere water, located in the heart of The Lake District and just a short walk into Grasmere village.

The outside space by the lake is gorgeous on a sunny day. The staff at the hotel, in particular the receptionist, were so helpful throughout our stay and really went over and above to be helpful. Thank you and would really recommend.

Very nice lakeland village, busy during day, but nice and calm in evening. Needs more good pubs, but the Travellers Rest pub just outside had a good menu. Allan Bank NT house worth a visit. Spoilt with some excellent walks out from village - walk around Grasmere lake and Rydal water is really good. Helm Crag has great views for the slightly more adventurous. But there's plenty more. Don't miss the church and gingerbread shop.

Grasmere is a picturesque village in an idyllic setting, it has all the amenities relevant for a visit to Cumbria & the tea rooms perfect for scones, cream & jam. There are clothes, foot wear shops which provide all the requirements for walkers & ramblers alike, the restaurants & cafes are nestled around the village & provide a safe haven for tired feet & light refreshments for replenishment. There are many walks for novice, experienced & those whom enjoy more of a challenge, good boots with great grip are advised as both the public pathways or bridle paths are layed with local stones for grip on narrow access routes. The scenery, especially the further up onto the peaks & fells is of outstanding natural beauty & not for novice walkers, but each choice of vocation brings joy & peace of mind.

We have been to Grasmere many times over the years and it never fails to impress. The village is quaint and has plenty of traditional pubs and cafe’s, is well located for walking, particularly for a morning jaunt up Easdale Tarn.

This hotel is located in the centre of the village.

This hotel is located in the centre of the village. You don’t need your car there as there are frequent buses that can connect you to almost anywhere in the Lakes. You can take a train to Windermere then the bus to Grasmere if you don’t want to drive. The walks are varied in length and difficulty it’s an ideal place to stay

    Lovely views, some interesting shops.

Lovely views, some interesting shops. Great coffee and bakery at Lucia's and some great gifts at Grasmere Gather, although I miss the old Garden Centre. Grasmere Gingerbread shop - smell is enough, but worth queuing for their gingerbread! Herdy Shop worth a visit and many more - jigsaw collection to paintings. Allan Bank (NT) great for just sitting and reflecting. Wordsworth's Dove Cottage really good and staff friendly and informative, all within walking distance of each other and then plenty of routes to walk as well as Grasmere Water. Can get very crowded, so worth going about early, although good parking (support the school at weekends and school holidays when you can park in their grounds) and children's play area. Grasmere Show in August, a traditional Lakeland Show and village hall often has public events too.

Lovely easy walks, quirky and traditional shops, welcoming cafes and nice relaxed welcoming feel all round. Barney's store an absolute joy of an Aladdin's cave, Green's Cafe's Tomato and Basil Soup gorgeous, Baldry's Team Room very nice indeed with a great ambience and The Distiller's Arms a delightful new addition since we were last in Grasmere. We parked the car in the hotel on Monday afternoon and never used it again until we left on Thursday lunchtime which tells you a lot!

Huge room as well as a large ensuite bathroom with bath and separate shower. The bathroom alone was bigger than some hotel rooms! Included kitchenette was very useful for breakfast and for simple meal preparation. Owner provided maps and advice on walking and an excellent post walk cafe (Mathilde). Grasmere is a very convenient location for the south Lake District area and more peaceful than Windemere.

The hotel is in a great setting nestled in Grasmere and close to amenities. Super friendly, informative and attentive staff. Always our first choice and we are genuinely disappointed if there is no availability when we plan to go to the region. Don’t want to over praise I will never get in!
