This is my idea of the perfect hotel. A fascinating old building beautifully maintained and splendidly located. the room was spacious and comfortable, breakfast and dinner both excellent, everyone working well together to make one's stay as [pleasant as possible.

I arrived early the staff were very friendly and helpful allowing me to leave my rucksack and go off for a walk. We pre ordered an evening meal which we both enjoyed .

We loved the Old Forge, which is full of character with a beautiful conservatory, terrace and garden. Every detail was carefully curated, from the fresh milk and flowers in the room and the lovely toiletries to the full English breakfast. We would stay again. A lovely walk into town
