Staff Amazing Facilities very good booking process terrible. I booked through booking.Com I tried to confirm my booking at the premises no help my Girlfriend tried to confirm on line no help if I hadn't got through on the phone to a guy called Eric I would still be driving around Peterborough looking for the hotel the on line system needs to be easier to find out information
But 10 out of 10 for Eric 👍
This was a stop-over half way along our journey. The staff were friendly and accommodated our late arrival. The room although small offered hot drinks, water and a piece of cake each upon our arrival which we thought was a lovely touch. We had a drink in the bar on the evening of our arrival and left in the morning after a lovely breakfast. Thanks to all for their hospitality.

Check in wasn’t till 5pm and we arrive at 4pm. The Bluebell was in darkness and looked grim, we almost left but fortunately we didn’t because the inside was much nicer than the exterior. It was very warm and cosy and very friendly staff. We had dinner which was very good, and breakfast the following morning, just as good if not better. Helps ton is a nice village with nothing to do except visit the Bluebell! Having said that we would probably stay there again if in the area.

Helpston is John Claire country - the Northamptonshire poet. So if you are interested in John Claire there is lots to do. Whatever you do Just go to the Blue Bell - or Bluebell the origin of the name is not certain - for a meal. You won't be disappointed. John Claire's house n museum with cafe n gardens is next door but do check opening times as they are limited,

It's a quiet village with a great sense of community.
It's a quiet village with a great sense of community. Good for access to Stafford, Burghley and peterborough with A1 not far away. During our stay the Bluebell was providing free lunch for service and ex service personnel for Remembrance day. The management are inventive, resourseful and brave and deserve any accolades they get. The staff all act as if the place is their personal responsibility. Really engaged.
