Set high above the village of Charlestown of Aberlour and overlooking the River Spey, this elegant country hotel is an ideal venue for shooting and fishing, and for whiskey-lovers.

Very clean and beautiful property. The staff were friendly although our server at dinner was not the best.

Located in Cullen, 21 miles from Huntly Castle, The Seafield Arms-Cullen has accommodations with a terrace, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

Very clean, high level of finish in the suite. Very comfortable and plenty of space. Only downside was it's beside the main road so a bit noisy early morning. Also front door is locked from 10pm - a key is available - just a bit of a pain if you are in a group and want in at different times but no real problem.

Located in Buckie, 12 miles from Elgin Cathedral, The Mill House Hotel has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant.

I didn’t expect much from this place, looks nice in photos. But the food is excellent, breakfast and dinners - good chefs! Staff are all really nice and the best sleep I’ve had in a while, the bed was super comfy. Everything is old traditional style so don’t expect modern top of the range. However, this is a nice cosy hotel with great food - will definitely be booking this hotel for the area.

The town is very historic but seems to lack the vision other towns in Scotland seemed to have found. The main street could be more ornate to capture attention of people passing through (as well as encourage better usage or street front property) and the commercial street behind the Main Street is not easily found or accessed…. Might be best to make a parking lot at the park on south end and make the commercial street a walking venue with ornate and historic flavor to attract both local people and travelers….

A good array of local and National grocery shops either side of the river, including a large Tesco. The Indian takeaway is also a big plus! The local shops and bakeries were all great. Great mainline train service down from Inverness or up from Aberdeen, plus the quaint heritage line from Keith Town station to Dufftown. Keith is well placed to explore the NE coastal towns and villages, across to Aviemore or Glenfarclas distillery (shameless plug for them), or indeed into Aberdeenshire.
