You must visit the Linlithgow Palace!
You must visit the Linlithgow Palace! The streets in Linlithgow are walkable, so that's nice. Be aware whenever you are anywhere in Scotland on a Monday, restaurants and shops may be closed (I ran into this all over each Monday). Otherwise, Linlithgow is a quaint town with rich history. Enjoyed exploring this historic town.
Enjoyed exploring this historic town. Visited the Palace and the museum and the canal basin during our short stay. Next time we would like to walk round the lake and explore the area more. Unfortunately the magnificent Palace was closed for repairs...
Unfortunately the magnificent Palace was closed for repairs but the loch, town and canal were as lovely as ever. I have previously stayed in Linlithgow and remember it well from my boyhood in Edinburgh. The glorious cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling are quickly reached by train but Linlithgow is of course well worth visiting in its own right. You will soon find your own favourite cafes and restaurants and remember the unique sound of car tyres on cobbled streets! So get your morninng rolls and come here. Two stops on the train from much-pricier Edinburgh hostels and hotels.
