Set in Lochgilphead and only 13 km from Kilmartin House Museum, The Corran offers accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking.

Excellent location for our sightseeing trip on Kintyre peninsula. Nice bedroom and breakfast room, both well presented in an old house with plenty character. Good views out to Loch Gilp. Good choices at breakfast. Pauline was the perfect host, making sure we were happy with the service provided and very helpful with advice on places to visit and eat. We would definitely recommend the Corran.

Featuring garden views, The Horseshoe provides accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 8.1 km from Kilmartin House Museum.

Excellent accomodation for two people ( although a sofa-bed would allow for four ). Well appointed, clean and well resourced. The shower was OK but could be improved by a bit more power. ‘The Stables’ is comfortable and well equipped for self catering ( although we dined twice at The Horseshoe ). There are a few books and many DVD’s. This accomodation is very well situated for visits to the Neolithic sites and the museum of Kilmartin Glen. Little touches like the motion sensor light above the door raise this property above the ordinary. We would certainly stay here again.

Located in Lochgair, Lochgair Hotel features a garden, shared lounge, restaurant, and free WiFi throughout the property.

I phoned the hotel to let them know I would be checking in late due to work and the chap I spoke with was very helpful and understanding, I assumed it would be too late for a meal but the lady at reception said they could arrange food... Bonus ! The room was basic but clean and warm, breakfast was good. A nice place to stay in my opinion. I stay in hotels a lot for work and don't normally post reviews but felt this place is getting some uncalled for low reviews, if you want a brand new premier inn type hotel.. book one !

Crinan Hotel is located in Crinan, 36 miles from Oban and 31 miles from Inveraray. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Free private parking is available on site. Crinan Hotel features free WiFi ....

Location and views are stunning. Food was mainly excellent. Staff were mostly lovely and attentive. Occasional errors in our orders were amusing rather than irritating.

Situated in Kilmichael Glassary and only 7.2 km from Kilmartin House Museum, The Pod Over By features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking.

A gorgeous tiny space that's somehow incredibly clean, modern and comfortable. Firstly, the view is just astonishing, and the friendly sheep near the pod are, of course, a little added bonus. For walkers, the pod is situated perfectly with (at most) 20 minute drives to hikes at Taynish, the beaver reserve, Dunadd fort, Achnabreak and so many more! We were shocked at how good the underfloor heating was, as well as that the bathroom was bigger and cleaner than some of the 'luxury' hotels we stayed in during the rest of our trip! The bed was incredibly comfortable, with clean and fresh smelling bedding. The water pressure and consistent temperature of taps was amazing. We didn't use the cooking facilities on this trip, but they were clean, sleek and fit in well with the aesthetic of the pod. There was even a TV with a guest netflix account and free wifi. The owners were so unbelievably friendly and we can't thank them enough for creating such a fantastic cozy paradise!

    Scenery, friendly locals.

Scenery, friendly locals. Beautiful Kilmory Park, interesting ancient sites nearby, variety of shops, 1 large supermarket. Only downside was ordered a bag of chips at local take away, paid £3.50 and then told the chips would be ready in 25 minutes. However, as a tourist this amused me more than inconvenienced me.

Lochgilphead is a very attractive small town.

Lochgilphead is a very attractive small town. It is also the best base I think for exploring the whole of mid-Argyll. Road distances in Argyll tend to be long - but Lochgilphead is only a few miles from the star attractions of Knapdale (wildlife, scenery, boating), Kilmartin (Europe's greatest concentration of ancient monuments), the island of Gigha and the Kintyre coast. And Tarbert, with several ferry connections to the islands and Cowal, is a very quick drive away, as are the National Trust gardens at Crarae. Inveraray is also an easy day trip.

Lochgilphead is a large village in Argyll, it has quite a few small independant shops, something that is lacking in larger towns. It has the usual eating places as the larger towns although special mention has to go to the Argyll Cafe. The loch itself is very scenic and there are ongoing improvements going on in that area.

While Lochgilphead is small, there are a handful of interesting local businesses (arts and crafts, household decoration, good cafés) that are worth checking out. It is also convenient for visiting Kilmartin Glen, Crinan and the canal, Tavallach/Loch Sween (Castle) and beautiful and tranquil Knapdale in general. On the practical side there's a decent sized co-op supermarket and a mini-supermarket, as well as one or two petrol stations. Dinner options are limited however. The upcoming renovations to the lochfront area should make this part of town more attractive.

Janette and Bobby were excellent hosts. Really friendly and eager to make sure we had everything we needed. We stayed in the suite at the top of the house. It was very comfortable and the bathroom was massive! The room had a lovely view over the Loch. The house was easy to find and has parking spaces. There is a good choice on the breakfast menu. We can recommend the full cooked breakfast. The poached eggs on toast and the French toast and bacon were delicious too. Would recommend staying here if you are visiting Lochgilphead.

A small friendly hotel that in addition to offering nice rooms serves excellent food. I cannot praise the owners and staff highly enough. I stayed for three nights and used the restaurant for evening meals.
