Fantastic home cooked food, excellent menu selection. Excellent cooked breakfast, full Scottish and eggs benedict were particularly tasty also, a great continental selection. Beautiful beer garden. Staff friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. Nas was particularly friendly and fun, always happy to help, quick and efficient when taking and delivering orders.
Tea, coffee ,hot chocolate, milk pots, buiscuits, and toilet rolls filled up daily. Bed made and towels changed daily. Hairdryer supplied. Selection of pillows. Brilliant entertainment, pop /general knowledge quizzes, music bingo, traditional music. Staff knowledgeable about the local area, what's on, and suggestions for activities and recommendations of which walks to do/starting points, etc.
The best hostel I have ever stayed. The room and bathroom were spotless clean. Good quality bedding. Reception staff extremely friendly and helpful. Beautiful views just at door step. Highly recommend.

Lochranza is a beautiful, quiet, scenic location for a tranquil holiday. It is very laid back and you can do as little or as much as you feel like. There is plenty to do from walking, cycling, camping, taking in the history which includes the castle. There is a distillery in lochranza that I would recommend you visit. There are a few local places where you can sit and enjoy a pint and a meal and if you are up for it stay in the bar as locals and visitors are very friendly. You also have the calmac ferry port that services Tarbet you can use this to do a day trip.All in all a beautiful part of Arran

Lochranza is beautiful and pristine - much like all of Arran however you experience more of a wilderness vibe than you do at the larger settlements such as Brodick or Whiting Bay.
There is plenty to see and do in Lochranza, with wildlife galore! We managed to spot some otters!
The scenery is just breathtaking.

Lochranza sits in a gorgeous glen , with a very good distillery, an excellent eatery - The Stag Pavillion, need to book way ahead. a moody ruin on the coast, great walks spanning out and up into the hills or along the coast.

Beautiful North Arran!
Beautiful North Arran! do yourself a favour and walk here from another part of the island; opt for either coastal or hill walks to get there. You'll be rewarded with beautiful scenery all the way, including waterfalls. Be patient, and you'll also be rewarded with amazing wildlife; seals, deer & stag, a range of birds, and if you're very patient......sea otters!

We spent two nights in the hostel in the double room (Queen size bed). The hostel was quite clean and the staff very friendly. There is a large kitchen with a lot of equipment to make your own meals, and the hostel offers the possibility to buy breakfast (granola, milk, yogurt, fruit, bread and jam, with vegan options) and a pre-cooked microwavable dinner (with a few vegetarian options), which was great as there are no shops in Lochranza.
Everything exceeded expectations. The bedroom was well appointed and the bed comfortable. The hotel is in a very quiet location with excellent views. The food was always fresh and expertly cooked. I also enjoyed fresh milk in the bedroom and high quality coffee and tea/bags. The owners were always attentive and helpful.
We had a great stay in this lovely hotel in the most northerly resort on Arran. It only re-opened in May, and is now community run. Some of the best aspects:
- Super friendly staff who were keen to support our stay;
- Gorgeous sea views from our room;
- Hearty and delicious evening meals served in the bar.
Location was stunning.
The hotel has been taken on by the local community so although my scoring was low it’s what I expected. Keep going boys and girls
