Featuring a bar and views of sea, The Clyffe Hotel is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Lowestoft, 200 metres from Claremont Pier Beach.

Great location. Right opposite the pier and lovely, sandy beach. Close to high street shops and restaurants. Very clean everywhere and nicely decorated throughout. Staff were helpful and left you to your own devices, which we like. No allocated parking but we managed to park along the road outside the hotel, which is free, and if not there is a pay and display right in front of the hotel, which had lots of spaces.

Lowestoft is an old coastal town in the first stages of economic recovery. Its location, on the edge of the North sea, is delightful. Its vast beaches and the proximity of all kinds of shops, countryside and entertainment (eg theatres, cinemas, parks etc.) make a wonderful place to visit.

The town has a wide variety of shops, banks, coffee shops, etc - just about any service you need. It is generally clean and easy to navigate on foot, with plenty of pedestrian crossings to safely cross the busy roads.

I like the beach and promenade the most, you can go for nice long walks and/or paddle along the beach. There are plenty of places to rest and have a drink or something to eat. It's lovely swimming in the sea, I like swimming near the South Pier best as you don't get the currents like you do on the other beaches.

Lowestoft is quieter out of season, but still has plenty of attractions for visitors, like restaurants, cafés, pubs, Dinky Town for younger children, sandy beaches, Sparrows Nest, Africa Alive, play areas, etc.

Lowestoft is quirky with some interesting sights and shops but other parts which appear in decline or unexploited. As an example, a major claim to fame - the most easterly point - is hard to find. The promenade along the south beach is very long and would seem ideal for a mini train. As it is there is no transport.. A highlight for us was to see the road bridge raised to allow a boat into the harbour. As a warning to anyone planning a long weekend, many of the specialist shops stay closed on Mondays - as my daughter and I found to our cost.

We use this Hotel when we visit our son and his family in Lowestoft its also dog friendly which is a must for us having two adorable cockapoos that always get a great welcome. We use the restaurant for an evening meal and drinks which always has a nice friendly atmosphere and good food with a specials board. The best thing about this hotel is the staff from reception to bar to cleaners all do a marvelous job and make you feel like family.

Location of the hotel is great and the parking was easy. The room was a good size for a twin room. Very comfortable beds too. The restaurant has a varied menu where the staff aim to please. Both the ladies and the gentleman on Reception were helpful. They even pointed out that Booking.com have not updated some of the room descriptions, hence we did not have the 'expected fridge'!!! I love this hotel and I love the area...

Easy check in. Someone on the desk at the reception area even though we arrived late, someone was there to check us in. Amenities are great. Rooms comfortable and clean. Tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer and towels. Tv. Heater and fan in room. Shampoo/conditioner in shower. Everything you need. Bar area in hotel, pub, restaurant and beach within walking distance. A lovely stay.

We have family and friends in lowestoft so this was a great place for us to stay. it's location isn't far from any thing that we wanted to do. From visiting the beach, go into town, pleasurewood hills, and going to the pleasure beach in yarmouth, we even to Oulton broad and walked along the canal and finished up with a lovely carvey at the "wherry hotel"
