Everything was perfect, and the room was very clean and warm. The host was very friendly, and the view was just amazing. We also had breakfast in the morning, which was a lovely touch with warm coffee and croissants. Definitely recommend it

Great location (we walked into Machynlleth and it only took about 20mins) and quirky characterful property. Everything was spotlessly clean and the freshly cooked breakfast was amazing! The self check in and out worked really well for us. The instructions were clear and easy to follow.
With a magnificent location, surrounded by the stunning natural beauty and dramatic scenery of the Snowdonia National Park, the Tynycornel Hotel looks out over its own 222-acre fishing lake.

Breakfast and location were outstanding. The only thing I can say if I had to there was no heat in the main bedroom. But there was a very warm radiator in the bathroom

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely cottage! The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home from the start. The location was perfect—peaceful and surrounded by breathtaking scenery, with plenty of great walks right on the doorstep. One of the highlights was spotting a few planes flying through the Mach Loop, which was an amazing experience. The cottage itself was cosy, well-equipped, and beautifully maintained, providing the perfect base for our trip. We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended for a relaxing and scenic break.

We have got to know Machynlleth well as our daughter moved there 5 years ago and we are charmed by the variety of shops and lovely coffee at The Hermit Crab and great food and coffee at Ty Medi, all so close beautiful beaches and mountains.

I stayed in Machynlleth with friends.
I stayed in Machynlleth with friends. Mach is a good base to explore Ceredigion to the south, and Gwynedd to the north. Mach also has its own MOMA, with galleries and concert hall, railway station, site of Owain Glyndwr's parliament, and Y Plas conference centre. Ample bars, restaurants, and accommodation from budget to 3*. Biosphere nearby. Web searches for Mach will likely show these and more.

Alex was incredibly friendly and supportive throughout our stay. She even took the time to suggest a few great local spots to visit, which made our trip even more enjoyable. Thanks to her recommendations, we got to explore some hidden gems in the area!

Machynlleth has become very run down.
Machynlleth has become very run down. Although The White Lion has been refurbed, very messy outside. Not sure why they are able to have loud music until 2am. The Red Lion changed hands, very sterile in there. The council would have been better to have used the money for the refurb of the tower clock on the town itself. They have had no thought on the potential impact on guests staying in hotels, particularly the Wynnstay whose best room priced at £175 is within 50 feet of the clock which chimes every fifteen mins and bongs on the hour. Impossible to sleep!!!!!

Most of all we were genuinely touched by how friendly and helpful people are there. When we were in Cemlyn nature reserve, we started chatting with a local and we mentioned that we are from Slovenia and that we would like to see some cliffs. He pointed some great ones for us to see. After saying goodbye we headed slowly to our car. Behind windshield wiper we found hand drawn map of the way to cliffs. We couldn't even speak!
The nature is really amazing. Maybe we were lucky that we booked our trip in april because there were not many tourists and we had pleasent experience. But nevertheless people would always be great there, I'm sure.

A very interesting and unique setting close to Machynlleth centre….an upstairs walk through barn with a range of bedrooms, toilet / bathroom 🚽 plus separate kitchen with all mod cons including microwave & oven. A great place to meet up with others using this budget hostel.

Machynlleth town centre is only a short walk from the cottage, yet it's very quiet. The cottage is clean, fully equipped, with comfortable sofas and lots of local guide books have been provided. The train station is a 5 minute walk - perfect for visiting the neighbouring coastal towns without the hassle of driving. Highly recommended place!
Excellent breakfast, with choice of cooked breakfast, toast and cereals. Very friendly and helpful host. Room spacious and en-suite bathroom very good. Bed slightly on firmer side but duvet and pillows very comfortable. Quick (5 mins) drive into Machynlleth and only half an hour or so to other nearby places like Aberdyfi and Aberystwyth.
Breakfast was good and plentiful. The hotel is really clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is full of character, very quirky. And it's right in the middle of Machynllyeth, which is handy.
