Middlesbrough – 200 hotels and places to stay

This modern 4-star hotel is in the center of Middlesbrough, in the busy Teesside business area.

Good location, handy for the station, and friendly helpful staff. The key card system was down, so staff had to escort you to your room every time you needed to go back in! They were obviously very stretched, but still smiling and friendly.

This small, elegant hotel has a unique mixture of old-world charm and modern facilities. Guests can enjoy free WiFi throughout, and free parking on site.

The staff were funny and friendly polite and not too serious which was nice. This is the main reason I didn't go and express my disappointment with the radiator and other issues

Holiday Inn Express Middlesbrough - Center Square offers accommodations in Middlesbrough. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Free WiFi is available throughout.

The reception staff were impolite during both check-in and check-out. When I requested an invoice with an address, the staff looked visibly annoyed. To reach the elevator, you have to walk up 4–5 steps, and the distance to the room feels very very long. The bathroom and bed were comfortable, but there was a disgusting coffee stain on the carpet. On the positive side, the breakfast was good. Good location and convenient to walk to the train station.

The accommodation was opposite a big park, and the staff had parking permits I have mobility issues and the staff found me a ground floor room. Their suggestions for evening meals were very good. We ended up at an italianm restaurant eating outside and loving it. Not my reaction before we'd visted middlesborough. Nice countryside around, and going towards the coast is excellent. I was surprised how good it was

We had come to visit family.

We had come to visit family. We love coming to Middlesbrough as the shops are so much better than where we live. there is so much culture and good places to eat without breaking the budget. We ate at Uno Memonto and the food was delicious and well within our budget, the waiter really impressed me, he didn't write nothing down but whatever you ordered was duly delivered. We travelled by bus to our family which was really easy to do, I just downloaded the app for the bus and away it took us. The only downside is the people that beg, there was one episode where I was quite startled as I thought there was going to be a fight.

It's hard for me to write these negatives, but it's already caught up with me. My partner and I have been here several times. The apartment is very nice but lacks a lot in terms of cleanliness and supplies. I brought this to the owner's attention, he promised to fix it, but he didn't. We are very sorry, if this doesn't work next time we will try to look for something else. Maybe we'll try to go back and then I'll decide. This time it was really bad. The seat has not been cleaned since last year - ugly big stains. The curtains are covered in white stains - maybe milk? And stocks this time at zero. There was no washing up liquid, no soap, no shampoo, no kitchen roll and to top it off - absolutely no toilet paper. Just nothing. We had to buy everything. The clothes dryer was broken and the shoe rack was also broken. Very sad. We left the apartment with flu and fever because the heating was turned off, the boiler was locked. We bought a small electric heater, but it did not heat the apartment. Very noisy in the bedroom from the fan in the bathroom and through the closed window in the bedroom it was blowing so hard that it lifted the curtain. It was absolutely unbearable. We slept in the living room on a broken and dirty couch. I won't comment on what dirt was under it when we took it apart... :-(

This is a great place but 3 days is about right as many places are either closed or on reduced hours e.g. Captain Cook and Dorman? Museum. I went to Redcar and Saltburn for the other days which were very worthwhile. The Saltholme nature reserve is a great attraction and caters for young and old alike. The modern visitor centre gives great views of the large reserve and the numerous hides scattered across the enormous site give fantastic views of the many different birds. The visit to the Transporter visitor centre was fascinating but it would be great if they could repair the Transporter which would be a drawcard for so many people in the UK and beyond. Public transport is very reliable and frequent and the train travel to the places mentioned above was very cheap and quick.

Had little contact with host but on the occasions we did meet he was very hospitable and friendly. Self check in ran smoothly. Ensuite room, clean and had storage space. Close to Uni area and enjoyable pub within campus open to all Ten minutes walk to plenty of restaurants and another ten to town centre.

Close to the town centre but far enough away to be nice and quiet at night. Looked exactly as the pictures show. Lovely to have a garden the dog could go out in as it’s all enclosed.
