Moreton in Marsh – 15 hotels and places to stay

In a 17th-century former traveler's inn, the White Hart is in Moreton-in-Marsh’s historic town center.

The hotel is a wonderful combination of old and new. Our room in a converted stable was spacious, comfortable and quaint all at the same time. The receptionist allowed us to store our luggage behind the desk while we hiked. The breakfast was tasty. We’ll definitely be back.

Delicious roast dinner on Sunday. Wonderful breakfast. Within easy walking distance of the train station. Having an opportunity to buy an adapter at the desk was so very helpful. I can’t say enough about the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff.

17 miles from Walton Hall in Moreton in Marsh, Fire Service College provides accommodations with access to a fitness center.

I was recommended to use this by a friend. I had not checked before how far out of Moreton this actually was. Compared to alternative properties, it was a lot cheaper but with the cost of taxi's it might be cheaper to stop in Moreton itself if booking far enough ahead. Particularly as most of them would include breakfast.

Location was perfect, and there is free parking all along the high street. The room was furnished with an eclectic mix of hand painted, solid, beautiful furniture with a very comfy new bed and lovely linens. Plenty of tea and coffee and a quiet fridge, good quality hair dryer, and lovely spacious shower.

Victoria House offers luxury boutique room-only accommodations in Stow on the Wold in The Cotswolds.

It was okay. The place itself was very lovely and cozy, but there was some bathroom stuff missing (according to the things mentioned in this app). And the kettle was dirty, I wasn't able to use it.

We stayed one night in Moreton in Marsh before visiting family in Cheltenham. It was perfect. Before arriving in Moreton we visited Hidcote National Trust. We had a pleasant wander up and down the main road before dinner. There were plenty of nice pubs and restaurants. We had a wonderful meal at Bellini's Italian Restaurant. Next day we visited Chastleton House. Another National Trust property.

The High Street was great - quintessential English village.

The High Street was great - quintessential English village. Lots of restaurants and shops. Close to the main train station, as well as local transport (be careful the bus times are very limited, often only once every two hours, so you need to plan properly!). The surrounding areas are also stunning, and there are footpaths which are marked out.

We stayed at the White Hart Royal [as did Charles 1st, although, unlike us, he failed to pay his bill], which was not only a friendly, clean, and comfortable hotel but good value for money and a very good place to eat - we had breakfast and dinner there. The small town is beautiful, with a High Street full of houses built of mellow Cotswolds stone, and there is much free parking. We were only there overnight, but found time to visit the market, the numerous antique shops and charity shops, and the Cotswolds distillery near Stourton which is some twenty minutes away by car. The town is well positioned for a holiday in the Cotswolds and we aim to return.

    Its a great place.

Its a great place. Great walks to exercise dogs even in the dark. The Swan doesn't served food on a Sunday evening but soon pointed me in the right direction to six places to eat at. I ate at the Aylesbury where well behaved dogs were welcomed. There were at least six other dogs in there at the time.

The town is continuing to expand, with many more lovely tea rooms and catering establishments to choice from without spoiling the high street. The town is always spotless and streets well maintained. Christmas trees and lighting 🎄 are beautiful and make the town look magical at night. We stayed again at the lovely Redesdale Hotel, lovely rooms, cosy, very clean, food delicious and service excellent. We also enjoyed dinner at the White Hart Royal Hotel and on both occasions the food and service was impeccable.

Moreton in Marsh is a market town with good facilities. If you did not want to drive it is one of the few Cotswold towns that has a railway station with direct links to many places including London. A variety of pubs and restaurants for you to rest and eat

Moreton Cottage is a little gem. Exceptionally clean and comfortable, a charming authentic cotswolds cottage located 50 yards from the town centre. Close enough to walk to local restaurants, but nice and quiet as not on the high street. The cottage is well equipped, couldn't think of anything that is not provided for. It's is a great location for exploring other villages in the Cotswolds, has a local train station and plenty of places to park.

Great location with easy access to all the pretty Cotswold villages. The hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. The bar and conservatory dining room were attractively designed with views of the courtyard garden and there were plenty of quiet corners if needed. Lovely Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom. Comfortable bedroom, if a little small. Added bonus of free parking.

Century House is in a lovely quiet location off the main road that goes through Moreton in Marsh. It’s a cosy clean welcoming cottage with just about everything you could need. It rained most of our stay so we didn’t use the garden but it looks very nice.

The best of this hotel is the location. Walking distance to the train station and buses. The bed was comfortable and I could sleep through out the whole night. Breakfast was OK.
