Offering a garden and garden view, Crown Cove House is located in Pakefield, 25 km from Bungay Castle and 26 km from Caister Castle & Motor Museum.

Great location across the road from the beach, attention to detail in the decor with a lovely seaside theme. Very clean.

On top of Kirkley Cliff, overlooking Lowestoft’s beach, Hotel Victoria is less than a mile south of the town centre.

Lovely room with all the facilities I needed. The socket by the bed was a great advantage for the phone. The carpark outside the front door was great. The radiator to keep the room warm in the very cold weather was lovely. The collection of hot drinks and biscuits was a nice touch.

This was our first time to Pakefield and Lowestoft .

This was our first time to Pakefield and Lowestoft .We'd come back again for a longer stay . Several things were worthy of comment . a) It was spotlessly clean b) Everyone was incredibly friendly c) The eating out experience can be a bit limited if you are vegetarian We can't remember going to a sea side town and being so pleasantly surprised for a long time

We love visiting Suffolk with our 2 dogs.

We love visiting Suffolk with our 2 dogs. The county is very "dog friendly" & Pakefield has a great beach, which is unrestricted for dogs all year round. A good walk along the beach leads to Kessingland (similarly unrestricted) or, in the other direction, Lowestoft, which has a beautiful sandy beach but does not allow dogs on the beach between May & October. There is also a lovely wooded park, in which I have seen slow worms, & it is possible to walk to Oulton Broad, using some off road tracks. Pakefield has several pubs which serve food, a number of takeaways & a couple of small supermarkets, so everything is within easy walking distance. Lowestoft is just over a mile away. Whilst it is not the prettiest town it has some good shops & still has banks (one of the few towns in Suffolk to retain them). It is also a town where there is work being done to revive the area, the First Light Festival in June & 40s weekend in July being particular highlights. A walk in the opposite direction brings one to a small industrial area with a large Morrisons & other supermarkets & shops. There are bus services within Pakefield, although I have not tried the bus routes, & trains from Lowestoft to Ipswich or Norwich (the Ipswich train is quite a long journey but it does stop at a number of other towns in the county, so a visit to Halesworth or Woodbridge by public transport is possible). Pakefield is a good location for trips around Suffolk & Norfolk, especially to the coast or Broads, & it is a favourite place for us to stay. It has a warm, village feel, good facilities & plenty of good dog walking.

Pakefield is a lovely seaside town just south of Lowestoft. We ate at the local Pubs the best being the Jolly Sailors closely followed by the Hammer & Trowel and the Oddfellows which are all dog friendly. Everything is within walking distance but I would suggest that transport is required e.g bus, car or taxi, to get to Lowestoft's South Pier and Lowestoft itself about 1.5 miles from Pakefield and Oulton Broad about 2 miles away. Having spent a long weekend there I will definitely return and revisit / explore different things. There is a dog friendly hotel - the Tramway which is a sister pub/inn to the Trowel & Hammer but I didn't get a chance to use it.

Pakefield has a great beach, has some nice eateries and small independent shops. Our parking was street parking but we didn’t have any trouble finding a space. It’s within easy access of Southwold, the Broads and other attractions.

Everything you could possibly want is in Pakefield.

Everything you could possibly want is in Pakefield. The pubs are clean and serve good food. We went to the Oddfellows and the Jolly Sailors, the beach is a lovely, long walk and dog-friendly with many good restaurants (fish and chips readily available). Also, there is a great play area for children just off the beach. If you want more bustle, the main town of Lowestoft is in walking distance (on a good day).
