Set in secluded 20-acre grounds, the Roman Camp Country House Hotel is set on the banks of River Teith in scenic Callander Village.

A very charming and cosy hotel in a lovely location, very easily accessed from Glasgow. The library is gorgeous. The room was warm and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The grounds are lovely for a walk. We’d definitely stay here again.

The Lake itself is stunning and has lots of different activities on offer. Due to the time of year most of these activities weren't available for us, but we are already looking to come back to take advantage of them.

We loved stayed in this cottage for 4 nights, the weather was beautiful so we were able to sit out on our balcony for breakfast, taking in the stunning views. Extremely dog friendly setting and the owners were very helpful. Well equipped cottage had everthing we needed for our stay. And my husband says to let you know that if you ever need Bernie (the resident retreiver) rehomed then we would very happily oblige!

    Lovely, quiet location.

Lovely, quiet location. Fly fishing on the lake is available and the staff at the fishery are friendly and helpful. Nick Nairns cookery school and restaurant, near the lake is a lovely place to eat and a real treat.

Hills and forest in easy reach of the property, along with Flanders Moss and Doune Castle close by for a range of activities. Great walking and cycling, and a great meal at The Inn at Kippen on our last night. Superb.

The Port of Menteith and the Loch of Menteith is a beautiful...

The Port of Menteith and the Loch of Menteith is a beautiful and very tranquil and scenic setting. It is much less busier than the more touristy lochs such as Loch Lomond, in the surrounding areas. One can spend a quiet, relaxing day close to wildlife either swimming or fishing in the loch without being disturbed. The Port of Menteith is also an ideal location for outdoor family activities with wildlife and nature attractions such as the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, the Blair Drummond Safari park, the Loch Lomond Faerie Trail, the Braklin Falls and the Flanders Moss Nature Reserve, to name a few, just a stone's throw away. We stayed at the Lochend Chalets in Port Menteith for a week in August and had a memorable stay there. The self-catering cottages are ideal since it could get a bit too pricy eating outside, especially when you have a family. We recommend this place for families with young children who can enjoy the play area, swimming in the loch and feeding the ducks there.
