Great little house to rent if you're spending some time on Lewis. Not too far away from Stornoway but far enough to give you that peaceful feel. The property is well stocked with all the equipment you might need away from home. Super friendly host and host's mother, too. Would definitely come back in the future. Thank you for a pleasant experience.

Ness offers a typical Outer Hebrides welcome with neighbours not far away but remoteness too. The Port of Ness community is welcoming and it makes a great. Hub to see all the islands from the most northerly point at the Butt to the southerly Leverburgh on Harris if you want to travel down to the Uists.

    So many things to see.

So many things to see. Recommend visiting the art gallery, the sea wall at the port, pizza at breakwater cafe, a visit to the light house, story beach, the flying foxes at Europie beach, the antique shop and further afield, a visit to the callanish standing stones and Harris is highly recommended.

Beautifully scenery, but not for holiday makers, very poor...

Beautifully scenery, but not for holiday makers, very poor facilties, no grocery shop near by, the nearest a few miles away, very difficult to find places to visit or find things to do. Excellent place to visit, if you want to do nothing at all, except to look at the scenery. The breakwater cafe was nice, limited menu, everything with chips, homemade soup lovely. Only cafes around to provide meals, which are closed by 4pm. 2hotels, providing evening meals opened only for Thurs, Friday and Saturday nights only.everything closed on sundays, can't even get petrol or a pint of milk. No people around, saw about a dozen people all week, place deserted, like a ghost town.

Very quiet on main road but hardly any traffic.

Very quiet on main road but hardly any traffic. The Cross Inn at Cross about 5minutes away offered excellent food and also the Breakaway Cafe close to the beach was also very good. This holiday is suitable for people wanting peace and unspoilt countryside.
