Located in Whalley, 6.8 miles from King George's Hall, Whalley Abbey - B&B and Retreat House has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

Both days the breakfast was very good, first day it was buffet style second day less people so it was cooked to order continental available both days. I used the venue as a base to attend a nearby wedding reception and the location was perfect as is it's proximity to Whalley village. All staff that I engaged with were very helpful nice and pleasant. I had a single room with ensuite shower and toilet also tea and coffee making facilities in room and WiFi. In the reception there is an honesty bar and further tea and coffee making facilities beside it is a nice lounge overlooking the courtyard. In the courtyard is a separate cafe. Surrounding the venue are the gardens and ruins of the Abbey which all back on to the river Calder

Northcote offers luxury accommodations in Langho, on the edge of the Ribble Valley.

On arrival we were met with an immediate issue as we were due to attend a wedding and there were no rooms reserved for us despite us booking in January. The hotel was full. The hotel staff and team there managed to sort the situation and arranged alternative accommodation at another hotel. Exceptional performance under an incredibly difficult situation.

The information posted about the Abbey and its construction was very interesting. It rained the entire time we were there, which was very disappointing, as the landscape is beautiful & we were unable to fully enjoy it.

Tranquil, historic abbey , much in ruins but surrounded by gardens and set alongside the River Calder. Reception rooms spacious and historic - you may well rub shoulders with senior clerics who use this location for retreats and workshops

I did not realise that i was staying in a working abbey.

I did not realise that i was staying in a working abbey. This was my fault. Although the wording was Whalley Abbey Hotel My husband said he heard singing at around 6.30 am or was he dreaming? The room was very clean and comfortable with a lovely view Breakfast was in a large refectory and was very good but it had to be 8.30 am I enjoyed the peacefulness and the tranquility and the beauty of the ruined abbey. i guess it may seem a little spooky to some the location to the centre of town was excellent and the Swann pub did good food and drink

Whalley is a great base for visiting the Ribble Valley. Surrounded by lovely countryside. Has a rail link which I used several times. Good bus services through the village if not travelling by car. Good restaurants & a fish & chip shop.

The house was stunning and furnished beautifully and well equipped with everything and more that we needed. The beds were very comfortable and had high quality bedding. The location of the house was great, right near The Eagle pub where we had tea one evening. Whalley was a lovely 20 minute walk away. It was located off the main road on a private driveway amongst trees and was very very quiet. It was just perfect, we really enjoyed our stay.

Location is amazing and so handy for both Whalley and Clitheroe. We have family nearby, so was an ideal location for us. Whoever cleans this lodge is an absolute stickler for detail and it is absolutely spotless. Very, very impressive. The views are stunning and it is so peaceful.
