In the heart of the Derbyshire countryside, Santo's Higham Farm Hotel has stunning views over the Amber Valley.

Stayed here to visit a customer and the room size was very generous. The food was good in the bar and the breakfast in the morning was massive! Staff were really helpful and would definitely be back.

Located in the historic town of Belper, The Lion Hotel features a modern bar area set within an 18th century building.

Lovely hotel very comfortable room. Great bar, apart from no carling, there was previously. Food was excellent apart from the cooked breakfast which was nowhere near as good as it was the last time we were there. All the staff were great friendly helpful and courteous.

There isn’t much at whatstandwell but they do have a train station and that’s all u need! Or u can walk along the canal to neighbouring villages, which on a nice day is a very beautiful and peaceful walk!

I came to see the industrial archaeology of Bull Bridge.

I came to see the industrial archaeology of Bull Bridge. It was famous for the Bull Bridge Aqueduct, but there are also the ruins of the Bull Bridge kilns, 5 lime works, the line of the Crich or Frichley tramroad, and an older one adjacent to the kilns, a corn mill, and a malt house.

We stayed here as a mid point between White Peaks Distillery (where we had a tour and tasting session- highly recommended!) and Yassou Greek Kitchen (just the best dinner!) The local area was very pretty, but also very hilly! A poorly planned walk could cost your calves!

The Willow room was perfect for my needs - comfy bed, desk/dressing table & chair. Sash window a little difficult but managed. Fan provided. Hairdryer provided. The cafe had lovely comfy chairs, tables adequately spaced. Handy location for walkers, shoppers & fun seekers. Car park across the road, off busy A6.

WhatStandwell is a lovely village, we drove to The family Tree however there is a railway station 2 minutes walk away which will take you to Derby or Matlock and Matlock Bath. There is a bus service which will take you to Buxton and beyond, bus stops are also 2 minutes away or less.

    Easy to get to .

Easy to get to . Hotel was easy to find and the food in the restaurant was good. Easy to get round the area with plenty to see and do. Watch out for the many speed cameras. Avoid weekends as parking everywhere was difficult . Enjoyed it so much we are going back.
