From the moment we booked to stay, the team at Mandraki made everything easy - concierge was in touch to set out a whole variety of options regarding travel and our stay itself, and they were responsive right up until arriving and during our stay to help make any arrangements we needed. We were met at the hotel's boat in the harbour by a member of concierge and taken to the hotel, and since arriving we’ve been looked after effortlessly by the wonderful team including the restaurant and bar staff, cleaners and in particular the beach team who always brought our food and drinks with a smile (there is a buzzer for service on each parasol which is dangerous, in a good way). Our room (beach side suite) was perfect - fabulous outdoor area for private relaxation, super king and very comfortable bed, Diptyque products, quality linen and towels. The beach and grounds generally are immaculately looked after, including by the delightful and very hands on owners of the hotel (and their beautiful dog). We had breakfast each day and dinner one evening in Captain M, along with lunch on the beach every day - everything we ate was delicious. We both had a deep tissue massage, which was excellent and good value for money. The hotel is a circa 20 min walk along a lovely coastal path to Idra town, or else the hotel’s boat runs hourly from 10am-10pm (you can request later collection) so it’s easy to get the best of both worlds. We stayed one night in Idra town before our 3 nights at Mandraki and if you’re looking for a more relaxing break as opposed to what is effectively a city break, Mandraki is the way forward. We’ll certainly be recommending the place, and we’ll certainly be back!

I recently stayed at Hydroussa Hotel , and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was outstanding. The staff was warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. The hotel itself was beautifully designed, blending modern comfort with traditional Greek charm. Our room was spacious, spotless, and tastefully decorated, with a comfortable bed. One of the highlights was how easy it was to explore the island from the hotel. Whether it was visiting charming villages, discovering hidden beaches, or taking a boat trip to nearby islands, everything was easily accessible. Overall, our stay exceeded expectations. If you're looking for a relaxing and authentic Greek island getaway, Hydroussa Hotel is the perfect choice. We can’t wait to visit again.

Very classy place for 4 days! Lovely staff- always helpful & polite to us & to each other! The location was central and easy to access with luggage. We had room 102 which had a lovely balcony and a drying rack for swimwear etc.. the bedlinen, towels and bathroom toiletries were very high spec - lovely furniture and very homely. Air-con was quiet , very efficient (& needed). Breakfast was served in a beautiful courtyard with a magnificent tree. It was served each day by a busy & wonderful lady - plenty of variety and lovely fresh orange juice, fruit, veg and cooked food. Very relaxing & wonder spot to maximise your Hydra stay.

Location and view on the poert, best you can get. And it's a real old port house, that's all the charm. Nice deco, locally. Sit at your room window for hours...

Theano’s is a beautiful, clean, and affordable guesthouse. Antonia and Lida were wonderful hosts—warm, welcoming, and always ready to go the extra mile to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. They even kindly accommodated us for an extra night when we were unexpectedly affected by strike action, which we really appreciated. The guesthouse itself is spotless and tastefully decorated, offering excellent value for money. The only reasons we’re not giving a full 10/10: • Location and accessibility: The property is quite difficult to find, with minimal signage on the surrounding streets and lanes. Additionally, it’s located up a large number of steps, which could pose a challenge for those with limited mobility. • WiFi issues: Unfortunately, we weren’t able to access the WiFi for the first two days of our stay, which was a bit inconvenient. • Garden access: While the garden looked lovely, we weren’t given access to it during our visit, which was a bit disappointing. That said, our overall experience was very positive, and we’d absolutely recommend Theano’s to others—especially those looking for a peaceful and authentic stay with kind, attentive hosts. The house is also very close to Leonard Cohen’s house so perfectly located for visiting.
