Inside the castle of Monemvasia, in Chrysafitissa Square, Likinia is a stone-built hotel featuring traditional accommodations with unobstructed views of the Aegean Sea.

Monemvasia is a must visit place if you are traveling to Greece! Packing light is helpful as cars are not able to access beyond the castle walls. You may drive to the top of the road and drop off bags at the gate then park where you can find a spot along the road. Likinia is towards the end of the path. Keep walking the main path then follow the signs. It is very quiet spot away from the stores and cafes giving it a more secluded feel. The rooms are historic and beautiful. We were welcomed with a bottle of local wine. Room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was lovely, kind, welcoming, and considerate. Breakfast was served in the garden and was delicious. One of my favorite places we visited in Greece!
The recently renovated Hotel Aktaion is located right at the entrance of the bridge leading to the castle of Monemvasia. It offers stunning views of the rock of Monemvasia and its small port.

Good value. A simple property but clean. Host was very friendly and informative, and the lady who set out our lovely breakfast was friendly as well. Good location to go for a swim across the road and only minutes away from Monemvasia old town.

Unique room with a private rooftop patio and great views. Breakfast was included and excellent but wish it opened a little earlier as we were all early risers and needed our coffee.

Room was spacious—even by U.S. standards! Loved the water view and balcony. Loved having a roomy bathroom with a shower that doesn't result in half the bathroom floor getting wet. Pleasant and knowledgeable staff. Would return in a heartbeat!

The property is an amazing oasis, done to perfection, the stuff are amazing and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. The only thing to take into consideration is the distance from the town, you have to have a car .

Monemvasia is stunning and worth staying inside the lower town. The only word of warning is that this is a preserved Byzantine city so guests need to be able to walk on steep uneven surfaces and handle a lot stairs and small spaces. It’s worth it.

This was a unique and very interesting experience.
This was a unique and very interesting experience. Exploring the nooks and crannies of the village was fascinating. We loved the authenticity and ambience of being in a castle village. We hiked up to Old Town which provided a unique sense of history and amazing views. The only caution we offer is that traversing the streets and pathways will be challenging for anyone with mobility issues.

This is an incredible place! The castle is romantic with stunning views, great restaurants, and lots of places to explore. I kind of want to keep it a secret so it doesn't get spoiled by too many people...

I love how you can stay in this historical castle.
I love how you can stay in this historical castle. Instead of visiting history, you thrive in it. Every shop and restaurant owner was very adept at English and they all seemed so genuinely pleased to talk with me. The sunsets and sunrise are so lovely.
Do be aware of the cobblestone pathways and prevalence of stairs. If you are mobility challenged, this site will be difficult for you.
As a solo traveler, I spend most of my time sketching historical structures. If that is your thing, every single place in Monemvasia is worthy of your viewing and artistic endeavour.
For food, I had very good meals at Oinomelo and excellent take away breakfast from a Pita place right next to that (it is Pita-something…sorry)

Enjoyed exploring the mountain fortress (particularly the long ascent to the Byzantine 11th century built Agia Sophia)
Cheap shuttle to the island castle if you prefer not to walk.
Had the best stuffed vine leaves in lemon sauce ever (Matoula's Restaurant signature dish).
Easy drive to Neapoli Vion on new highway.
Surrounded by authentic villages with breath-taking views, including Koulentia & Lyra (if you don't mind the steep cliffs!)

We had the most beautiful room with an amazing view overlooking Monemvasia. The staff here were super friendly providing a map and giving us information about good restaurants. The room was spacious with a big verandah and we decided on the room with a sea view and so glad we did. The buffet breakfast was fabulous with a lot of choices and the staff were really lovely. The hotel was also well located to go across to the old town and climb up to the acropolis. Overall would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Monemvasia.
We loved our stay at Annema Hotel. It has a beautifully relaxed atmosphere in the grounds, the option of swimming in the pool or the sea and a wonderful view over Monemvasia rock which is especially beautiful in the evening. Breakfast was generous. Would come back in a heartbeat
Very nice location of the hotel just opposite the castle of Monemvasia. The hotel room was very big with a nice view to Monemvasia. The room was daily cleaned and was well equipped. The receptionists were both very kind and helpful.
Second time staying in this hotel and won’t be our last. Staff lovely, room delightful and such a bonus being able to park right by your room unlike other places in the castle where you have to carry your stuff far etc.
The view from the hotel is very beautiful. We really enjoyed our times in the petit garden adjacent to our room. The city itself is very cozy, and the city of Monemvasia is a 15 min walk.
