A quaint, 3 generation family owned hotel, lovely garden, away from the bars/clubs yet only a few minutes walk to the old port and restaurants, super friendly/helpful staff/owners (Julia and Maria! ), and I had a very enjoyable, peaceful 3 day stay here. I would only want to stay here again on my next visit to lovely MyKonos!

Location: superb. It's 3 mins walk to the BUS STATION!!! We didn't know how close it was to the bus station until we got off the bus. We took the bus from the Port to the Hotel, to the beach, and from the Hotel to the port. Everything is within minutes of walk. The location really cannot be better. It's a quite and decent hotel.
Breakfast: exceptional. Variety of greek food, freshly made, warm pies and croissant, I ate so much....
Room: the room we had, has sea view and sunset view. We saw Yacht, Cruise ships, speed boats from our hotel room window. It also has a balcony and has views of the 5 of the 6 Windmills :)

We were there for a friend's birthday the end of March which is off season. There were enough restaurants and a few shops open, but I think traveling a week or more later would have made a difference as a few more places were opening up the weekend we left. Beach clubs are all closed until May 1. We took a 4 hour tour so we saw the entire island which was great. We really liked the people of Greece and the food is fabulous!

Avoid when cruise ships are there (morning to 17:00), the amount of tourists is unbearable. instead go after the cruise ships are gone and you will experience a peaceful time in Chora in mid September.

Mykonos is great for whether you want a relaxing vacation, a bit more of a party atmosphere - or a mix of both!
Book a hotel with a stunning view to relax at during the day, and then head down into the old town in the evening for dinner, drinks and dancing. If you want it a bit more chilled overall, I suggest going late September / early October (although make sure you go before places close for the season!) - you might also find the hotels have better deals at this time.
Be prepared for things to be a little bit expensive - this is not a cheap vacation. The island is small, has to import a lot of goods, and is seasonal, so the prices tend to be a higher than a lot of other places across Greece.
For eating I would generally avoid the restaurants along the front, these tend to be tourist traps and you will spend your time trying to dodge them trying to reel you in. Instead take a walk through the maze of streets and try and look for some smaller places. If you want to keep it cheap look out for places that do souvlaki and gyros - there are loads - try out Sakis Grill House!
For bars, I would suggest Lola's which is great for a fun time, great staff, and delicious cocktails. In the day and searching for coffee? - then try out Soulmates - they do great coffee and have a cute little courtyard for you to sit in and plan out your day.
Getting around the island is easy. If you don't plan on getting a car, then book a hotel not too far from the old town - our hotel, Tagoo, was a 10 minute walk to the old town. You can also hire cars, mopeds and quad bikes if you fancy an adventure. Transfers from the airport are easy with the likes of Uber / local taxi.
Overall you will have a great time in Mykonos with the perfect blend of relaxation and lively nightlife. I recommend going for any length of time up to a maximum of a week.

Mykonos town is nice to visit, but would not choose to stay in town again. We ended up in a villa outside of town and it was wonderful. Quiet, roomy, comfortable with great facilities/amenities. It's a very windy island and the couple of beaches we visited were not fantastic, but not awful either.

Mikonos is a great island to visit!
Mikonos is a great island to visit! We went with our four young adult children. The town is beautiful, locals very friendly, food was amazing! We ate at Kastro’s which is 10/10. Food was beyond amazing and staff were spectacular! We stayed at the Asty Mykonos Hotel and Spa which is definitely a must place to stay! It’s at the top of the town and a perfect walk up the hill after eating delicious Greek food! Great way to get in your daily steps! 😁

The best place to stay if you want to be in the heart of downtown Mykonos and Little Venice and save on taxi rides, which are extortionate! Fabrika bus station is also close, where you can get a cheap ride to the beach clubs and airport. The apartment was lovely and clean, with great ac and next to so many restaurants and shops and great value for money.
George was a magnificent host, always so helpful and there for anything we needed. He also recommended great spots to visit in Mykonos. I would definitely stay there again.
I like the attitude and attention Manager and all the staff and drivers are putting out for their guests. You are feeling very welcomed. We were staying with 7months old daughter and everything was taken care off for her. The hotel is on the beach and with walking distance to the old town. Breakfast is also very nice. After some nights we changed the room for the one in the annex, which I must say was even more suitable for our little one. Rooms are nicely decorated and very well kept.
The hotelier was friendly and informative, it was quiet and a very quick walk from town. I liked that I could do my own thing, but the owner was engaged and happy to help if needed. Great staff. This hotel is value for money, it's not five star, just its functional and self contained. You have your privacy and there is no noise from.othwr units coming into your room. Very central location ten minute walk from town.
This fabulous little family owned hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff are great from the owner down. They really care that you have everything you need. The rooms are lovely and the restaurant and pool area really well kept. The breakfast buffet was delicious as was the dinner we had there. The walk to town is 10 minutes, but all uphill on the way back, but a cab is only 10 euros
This is a cute boutique hotel in the Mykonos town, commerce area. I loved the breakfast and coffee. They accommodated me with everything I needed - transportation and directions.
