The kitchen was quite old-fashioned but sufficiently equipped—especially the fridge with the ice box. The main room was clean and sufficiently big, with a perfect bed. The bath was very small but clean. The highlight of our room (all guests have general access but don`t use it :-) was the big terrace, which was equipped with deck chairs and looked out to the beach.
The car can be parked for free in the hotel's big parking area, approximately 100m away.

Melissa Hotel is a beautiful family run business. It is within walking distance of the beach but far enough away from the busyness to be peaceful. The service we received was excellent and we were made to feel right at home . Breakfast offered a variety of dishes, many of which had been made in house.

Pitsidia is just a small town nothing here , maybe a dozen restaurants [ in summer] pharmacy, bakery , nothing to view here rather its the area you could explore. Kommos beach is close , Minoan ruins at Kommos beach [not open to public but you can see everything through the fence]. Phaistos and Agia Triada are only few minutes by auto. I walked to Matala along the coast [ found huge fossils and i believe salt pans carved out of bedrock. Don’t do this during hot weather although there was a nice rock bay half way where you could go for a dip. Definitely take lots of water.

We did not see very much of Pitsidia as we were warned about narrow streets so did not want to take the car, and it was too hot (mid 30's) to walk very far. We did see the outside of the church though, and the square, both not far from our accommodation. There are some fascinating little alleyways, like in most Cretan villages and towns. The 3 tavernas we went into on the main road were all good, we particularly liked Babi's. If you are young and fit it would be a nice village to explore.

The apartment was perfectly located and had a small balcony with a great view to the mountains. Kitchen was very well equipped and the shower nice and hot. Light and bright. Pitsidia is a great base with lovely gorge walks, beaches and Roman sites nearby. Don’t miss the amazing folded rocks at Apopystra or the beautiful Red beach near Matala. We booked 3 nights and then stayed another 3. Fantastic value and great restaurants in Pitsidia.

Typical Greek village life with a few tourists.
Typical Greek village life with a few tourists. Just a few excellent tavernas, one bar and a few Greek cafes. Long may it stay this way, tourists that come here want traditional Greek, not the tourist type places.

Location in the center of the small local community where you can see the real life of Cretean people, it was a pleasure to spend 3 days in Pitsidia. A main square and a couple of local restaurants are just a 1-5min walking distance, more shops and restaurants are on the main road going to Matala, just 500mtr away. Can recommend Kantifes for breakfast, amazing tasty food but first ask for waiting time
The Villa and it’s location are perfect. We were traveling with two young families (4 young kids in total) and it had everything we needed. The pool is amazing and the villa is very spacious with really good beds.
Additionally the little village Pitsidia is a great place to stay. A lot of good tavernas are with walking distance from the villa.
Jodi is a super kind person and keen to provide extra information about Crete and the neighbourhood. The room was very clean, Jodi cleaned it every day. Pitsidia has a lovely "main street" with good tavernas and a great vibe.
The shower in the room was a bit small even for an M sized person, but it was manageable.
Great location, amazing swimming pool, view and privacy. You can enjoy the nature’s sound throughout the day. Within 3 minutes by car you are in the centre of Pitsidia, 5 more minutes you get to Matala beach. We had an unforgettable time there and Eleni is an adorable person, we definitely wish to come back.
