“The interior, the building, and the environment felt like a piece of art. However, a few small details were missing, like a drawer in the room.”

The location was great. It was on the beach which was fully organised. The beach beds were very comfortable and the call button attachhed to the umbrella was great. The beach had some pebbles, so you might want to bring wet shoes but it is not a must.
The bathroom of the standart room was small. We upgraded to executive sea view room and it was the perfect size.
The hotel is accessible for people with mobility issues.
Beach restaurant was great during lunch time and at night we tried the Italian restaurant, also good but most of the options from menu were not available as they were almost closing for the season. Unfortunately Samas was closed. The Greek restaurant Pasas was fair. Better to go to town.

Pythagoroion is the place where the city of Samos was located in ancient times. The port of Pythagorion is the oldest man-made harbor. The old quay wall can still be found near the Hotel Tarsanas, from where the sacred path leads along the beach to the Temple of Hera in Ireon. Above the town there is an ancient amphitheater where events are still held. From the amphitheater, a path leads up to the Spigliani monastery with its cave chapel. Also from the amphitheater you can easily find the way to the Eupalinos Tunnel, the oldest tunnel that was carved into the rock by counter-boring. It ensured the water supply of ancient Samos.

Pythagoria is a beautiful small town with a lovely little marina where ferries, fishing boats and private boats dock. There are lots of restaurants, bars, supermarkets, bakeries and souvenir shops. There are lots of cats all taken care of by Samos Street Cats. We will definitely return.

While one could chill in the villa and town for days, the best part is to explore the area. Best done with rental car (cars are incredibly cheap and plentiful in Samos).
Visit historic sites (Hereion, Museum etc.) early in the morning; beaches mid day; chill in villa afternoon before dinner. Don't miss sites outside of the town like great beaches and towns (we liked Mykali, the eastern side of the island, and Paralia Pithagorio). The town of Ireon has some great fish restaurants.

Rented a car for a day and toured the whole island. The town itself is walkable; bus transportation to visit other towns and beaches is scarce. Environmental pollution is present due to car rentals. Only electrical vehicles should be used in such a delicate environment.

Pythagorion was an amazing little town... beautiful harbour front full of restaurants, and an amazing collection of boats tied up in the harbour. We chose it mainly for the port as arriving from Kusadasi. Pythagoreio offered beaches that the other port, Samos Town seemed to lack. The beaches are all pebble beaches and it does get busy in peak times for sunbeds.
It is also close to several historical features that you can either walk to or get a taxi. We did a coach tour of the Island which was worth doing and gave us a good idea of what other things to see. We also took a local bus to Vathy which does a circular tour of the Island.

Driving in a taxi from the airport I commented that there was a lovely feel to the place- I don't know why I said this but it was true.We really liked Pythagorio and leaving after one night we immediately looked forward to returning at the end.
The waterfront was vibrant with loads of cafes and restaurants. No hustling from restaurant owners which was very welcome. Also not so many restaurants offering freebees at the end of a meal ( at which time you are full and have to refuse them ).
On our last night I saw a note in our guidebook saying - don't forget to carry on walking at the west end of the harbour as there are more restaurants. We were kicking ourselves that we hadn't seen this before because restaurants there were on the beach ( for that "toes in sand experience") and we had the best meal of our trip!

The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. When my son fell ill and was resting in the room, they kindly sent up a plate of fruit and some orange juice. It was a thoughtful gesture. The room I initially booked on Booking.com was a bit small, so I requested a larger one. Despite the hotel being fully booked, they managed to upgrade us for two nights at no additional cost. I am looking forward to visitng Samos and staying in Doryssa Theorem Hotel again.
the location is perfect, you can walk everywhere. we could park our car in front of the hotel. the room is exactly same with the picture. it is clean and they clean the room everyday. the wifi connection is good. we loved the flowers and the host is so kind.
It was one of the best hotels, I have ever stayed in Greece. The staff was very helpful and nice. The view of the hotel was exceptional. The location of the hotel is quite good. In addition, hotel was very clean.
Authentic and cosy location in a strategic position, with a lovely beach in front of the hotel and very close to Pythagorion's centre and Samos'airport.
