The room itself is a standard hotel room, nothing spectacular but clean and comfortable. The location is great, right across the street from the beach and on the main boardwalk where all the restaurants are.

We were a little mystified at breakfast,as we were the only customers, and it wasn't a buffet. The waitress turned up about 10 minutes late, so we were trying to get into a locked room. When she turned up we expected maybe fresh rolls , coffee and ham/ ham etc. what she brought us was coffee ,juice, butter and cake and jams. Then disappeared , so I went and asked for milk. She brought milk , then a toasted ham & cheese sandwich, then after another 5 minutes a boiled egg apiece. In the end it was a good breakfast, but a menu presented at the beginning would have cleared up our expectations.

Sitia is where my family is, so I was there mainly for family. A pleasant place, though, not too commercial. Good variety of shops. The food is superb, great seafood, and service at all restaurants was friendly and very helpful. Zorba’s restaurant is excellent, popular with the local townspeople. It’s a small town, no need to drive. The small archaeological museum is very nicely done and interesting.

Sitia may not be among the most beautiful places on Crete, but we really enjoyed our stay because the town is not overly touristic. While tourists are always around (at least in August), at night in the tavernas on the promenade you'll actually see more locals than tourists. So tourism seems to integrate nicely at Sitia. We liked that very much!

When traveling to Sitia, rent a car.
When traveling to Sitia, rent a car. The bus schedule is very limited. We wanted to see other parts of the area like Vai and Zakros, Toplou monastery but we were left with hitching a ride, or hiring a taxi.

Siteia is real Greece.
Siteia is real Greece. The town is built on a steep slope by a big bay, with a lovely long sandy beach and very calm. The area by the port really comes alive on Saturday nights. The town has all amenities you may need. The area to the south and east is wild and mountainous, with winding roads, some of them steep with many hairpin bends. The views are magnificent, always with the sea in sight. The east is quite barren, even like a desert in places, but everywhere you find olive groves and vineyards, and isolated virgin beaches. It was a bit like stepping back in time to the Greece of the 1970's.

Sitia is a lovely authentic Cretan town on the east side of Crete, which is not over-run by tourists. The beaches around have calm, beautiful clear water ideal for swimming and snorkelling. Vai beach in particular is sensational. From Sitia one can easily drive down to Zakros and Kato Zakros and also hike through the Zakros gorge.

Generous sized, clean and modern room with balcony overlooking the bay of Sitia. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent value for money. Plentiful and delicious buffet breakfast. The covered car park at the rear was a real plus as parking that near the centre might have been quite challenging otherwise. Loads of eating and drinking places on the doorstep. Very chilled and stress free stay with good memories of relaxing on the balcony after a busy day out surveying this super picturesque town arranged around the beautiful bay
Hotel is well located, with a small beach in front (free for hotel guests) and walking distance to the enjoyable small town of Sitia. The hotel is somewhat dated, but this brings a charming patina and the whole concept was well thought of when designed.
We only took breakfast there and this was decent. Staff in general is friendly, with especially the cleaning staff being warm and friendly and working very hard. Front desk (reception) also very much up to the task.
We had a great three night stay in this tranquil place. Giorgos was the perfect host, extremely helpful and kind, and the space was brilliantly equipped with everything we could possibly need.
The welcome food and drinks provided were wonderful, the bed was very comfortable and we really enjoyed being there. It’s the ideal spot to stay, just a few minutes drive from the centre of Sitia and with great access to the far east of Crete.
The apartment was quite large and airy and had a good view over the harbour of Sitia. Its about 15 minutes walk out of town but that means that its much quieter, except for some countryside noises. The owner was extremely helpful and it was generally good value for the price.
A very cosy and hospitable place to stop in Sitia! Conveniently located to explore the eastern part of Crete and its attractions.
The main is the amazing area with the pool and the magnificent garden.
The room is cosy and spacious for the family.
