The history of this place is intriguing and the hotel aesthetically pleasing at first glance. Breakfast was really great - especially their beautiful tea and coffee pots! The restaurant staff was incredible and attentive, as were the housekeeping staff. The location is AMAZING, as you’re steps away from the Sunday/Thursday market. We had dinner here, and we both enjoyed our meals, including service.
IMPORTANT: this hotel has terrible Wifi and they charge you for it if you need it in your room. It’s nonsense to charge high rates and not include Internet! As per the common areas, the Internet couldn’t load my posts with multiple photos….

The location of this privately-run hotel was fine and just a 5-6 min walk from the center. The older gentleman who owns the place was friendly and helpful, though I needed to ask him for towels and toilet paper, which weren’t in the room. He kindly brought me a cup of boiled water to put my coffee packet in. He provided a little information about the city. I believe he occupies the second floor, but when I called out to ask him a question, there was no answer.

Far away from chichi (my fault, should’ve checkex) minibuses for 5Q bring you here and drop you off right at the door.
They charged me something that was not on the booking confirmation (Booking’s fault as well)
restaurant with a very short menu and a bit expensive. (35 Q for one tiny arepa?) but you are forced to eat there cause there’s nothing else.
Pool was not available (too cold for it anyway but false ad)

I had a fantastic experience at Casa Diego Ignacio! I booked it last minute so didn’t know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by the quality and care of the hotel and owners. The owners are absolutely lovely, and their presence made it feel like I was getting the benefits of a homestay with the privacy of a hotel. They offer a cool variety of cultural activities that made me wish I booked an extra day to fit them all into my schedule. I would definitely recommend taking part in at least one of them. My room was quaint but recently remodeled and had a very cool mural depicting Mayan artwork. I definitely recommend opting in to the homemade traditional meals they prepare there! The abuela, who does the cooking, was an absolute sweetheart and her food was delicious! All in all, it was an amazing experience that I cannot recommend enough!! If you want to experience local culture, traditional home cooked food, and lovely people then this hotel is a great choice. Those are the reasons why I travel, if you feel the same then I recommend a stay here.

I stayed here for my birthday with a group of friends. It was perfect! Great location to explore the area. We loved the churrasco and fire pit. I also really appreciated the blankets and hot shower!

Many vendors cannot understand “no”and follow us everywhere we we go nagging and nagging and very annoying. One followed us to our hotel another followed us to the restaurant.
The market is not all that as Antigua has a market and Guatamala City has central market with equal products and food. I found out they charge more on Thursdays and Sundays because of the tourists.
The local restaurants quality of food is terrible.
We ate at San Juan and Las Brasas
Not worth going to Chichicastenango.

The room was beautiful. The staff provided plenty of drinking water and was very helpful in setting up transportation to lanquin. The hotel is feet away from the market. Breakfast was delicious and satisfying. I would definitely stay here again.
I wish I could stay longer. What a privilege to stay with this Family. If you want to see people connected to their history, roots, customs this is the place to stay. If you want plastic-fantastic generic hotel don't bother.
