Excellent ecolodge with lots of activities to do in the area. On-site restaurant is caters to any diet and family meals are available every evening so guests can socialize together. Splendid experience for me as a solo traveler. If you are the type to blowdry hair or require internet this is not the right place for you.

The room was bright, clean and had a lovely view from the balcony of the water. The food in the restaurant was great. The staff were so friendly and the owner Stuart was great. He was really engaging and helpful, he gave us great advice regarding logistics with boats and buses for our onward journey.
Would have no hesitation recommending Casa Nostra.

The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, very peaceful and comfortable accommodation on the river. Very clean and well maintained amenities. This was the last leg of our trip before heading to the airport, a bit more expensive than some of the other options available but definitely worth it after backpacking around. Also the food and service was really awesome. Very happy we chose to stay here.

I can't describe how great this little slice of heaven on the Rio Dulce is! From the location, the staff, the amazing host Tim, the shared dinners and all the furry mascots. It was perfect! We couldn't be more happy about the time we spend here. Definitely recommend and the only place in Guatemala we would re book in a heartbeat

I feel like this hotel is probably doing the best it can despite factors it can’t control (surrounded by abandoned buildings, unstable power supply). The pool is beautiful, and once you get past first impressions, it does feel secure. It is certainly not a resort in any way, but I wasn’t expecting it to be for $45 a night. The restaurant had decent food. There is a convenience store next door. The staff was helpful when asked and worked with me on google translate as my Spanish is not great. If you want nicer beach bars and beaches, walk left, away from town and you will find some. Unfortunately it took me until the last day to discover that.
