Jungle Lodge Tikal is a historic hotel founded within the first archaeological camp of Tikal, in addition to standard rooms, suites and bungalows, offers a version perfect for travelers seeking...

Absolutely gorgeous building surrounded by a jungle and SO close (a 5 minute walk) to the entrance of Tikal. Stunning dark wood decor, lovely common room (with a pool table and foosball), outdoor pool with deck chairs, comfy sitting area near the reception desk too. Oh! And above the "hostel" part was another common area with hammocks. The room was small but still the right size. Comfy beds with mosquito nets. Shared bathrooms that were clean and private. They screened a documentary about the Mayans for free the night that I stayed too. Really amazing experience here. The restaurant was wonderful too! Ate dinner and then breakfast there and enjoyed it both times (and wasn't overly expensive).

the bungalow we were in was a good size, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was as also good. The location was exceptional. We enjoyed staying in the park as it saved a day return trip and allowed for a sunrise/ sunset tour. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Hotel Jaguar Inn Tikal is located inside the Tikal National Park surrounded by jungle and only a 10-minute walk from the temples of Tikal.

Great location near the Tikal entrance . Food and service excellent, restaurant setting tropical ambience. Thoroughly enjoyed my two nights there. Room was clean but basic, no frills but it is the jungle after all.

One of the biggest cities of the Mayan era, it gives you a notion of the immensity of the Mayan civilization. I recommend using the service of a guide, that can explain all the history and secrets behind the walls of the city. If you're just visiting the park, 1 night is enough, as the tour takes half a day. Inside you can buy water, sodas, chocolates and cookies, so bring your own snacks if that doesn't apeal to you.

Experiencing Tikal in person is a world apart from simply watching it on YouTube. The awe-inspiring scale of the ancient ruins, the rich sounds of the jungle, and the immersive sense of history are things that can't be fully captured on a screen. Standing among the towering temples, surrounded by the vibrant life of the rainforest, brings a profound sense of connection to the past that no video can replicate.

I stayed on the grounds so there was not much around the area. Tikal was so rich with history and culture of the Mayans. Going to the museums in the park first is helpful to prepare you for what you will see at the ruins and why. The ruins were beautiful despite a lot of them not being excavated yet . Climbing to the top of the dome the ruins was breathtaking to be able to see what they saw. My tour guide was excellent and knew so many things outside of what the signs explained which made the trip more enjoyable.

Tikal is amazing. The structures and views are incredible.

Tikal is amazing. The structures and views are incredible. The history is unique and interesting. The area is confusing, but just walking the paths is delightful. Listen for the wildlife. Learn to recognize the structures that are not yet excavated. Align the maps they give/sell you, to navigate more easily. Guided tours have two costs: tour fee and guide fee. This was a surprise when we settled up at the end. Be sure to ask for total costs.

BEWARE OF THE TOURIST GUIDES (Tikal or the rest of Guatemala)!!! they propose some very expensive visit on Tikal ($70...50....more or less) there is no published rates....so they do what they want...and they want money. ticket to Tikal is 150 Quetzal if you are a foreigner and 100Q if you are from Guatemala, that you must pay in cash to a bank ( BANRURAL).... and you get no receipt for that!!!

Tikal Was amazing. The ruins were very cool. Many people like to rent a tour guide and they do give you some cool history and educational facts but I loved going in free solo. I was able to explore the ruins on my own time and go to all the different ones I wanted. It might be a good idea to buy a map of the place because there is not a lot of direction signs.

The jungle lodge is right by the entrance of the archeological park - literally a one minute walk. The facilities and communal areas are beautiful, there is a pool and our room was lovely, surrounded by the jungle. The staff was very nice and helpful. The food was also nice which is good as you really don’t have anywhere else to go! It is a lite bit pricey however.

Great place to stay while visiting Tikal! We stayed in a hostel room, but it felt like a normal hotel room. Really enjoyed the facilities such as the swimming pool. The accommodation also helps you with booking a guide for tours. Definitely recommend!
