Fonyód was reasonably clean and pleasant town.
Fonyód was reasonably clean and pleasant town. In places quite smelly, some houses need a bit of love and well kept houses have wildly diverse architecture, but generally the town feels safe and offers a lot of restarurants, ferry service, some water attractions and playgrounds for kids. Be aware though, very very few people (even young) speak foreign language there. What a difference in comparison to Györ in the North of Hungary, where everyone we met in the public areas spoke either English or German on a reasonable level. People are neither unfriendly, nor friendly; I fell like they just don't care about foreign tourists and mostly avoid communication due to a language barrier.Guest review byLIBOR

About 3 km from the accommodation, there is a dog-friendly beach (highly recommended), so the location of Napsugár Club is excellent. There is a train stop right next to the guesthouse, which takes you almost directly to the dog beach in Fonyód. The apartment was very well furnished, even a TV with netflix and the beds were comfortable. I really recommend it for families with children.
