Stayed 6 nights right on the beach. Great snorkeling just 5 minutes away from my cabin. Meals provided x3 per day, each one different. However, the last 3 night I had unwelcome guests: 2 mice drowned in my water supply barrel. The last night some animal dragged my clothes to the bathroom, at night, causing damage to them. That spoiled the experience for me

The room and bed were very comfortable. The mosquito net was in good condition. The toilet facilities and showers were as expected for a home stay and appropriate for the infrastructure available in this location. The food was good and plentiful. Loved the banana leaf cake and crepes at breakfast. Really liked the vegetables. Went on 2 of the day tours offered by Julia and Mimi. Those 2 ladies were wonderful hosts, sharing their love for the beauty and uniqueness of this part of the world. The house reef is full of varied life and was easy snorkeling in any direction to see an abundance of marine life (lots of turtles seen right in front of my hut, black tip sharks, sea snake, and a dugong [not seen by me but was spotted the day after I left]).

It felt like a family. We all sat together every night and talked about our days, our dives, and future plans. I made lifelong friendships. The dive center is everything I wanted, small groups, lots of dive sites.

We (a couple) stayed here for a whole week in January 2025 with two friends. Accommodation is very basic, however, it came with a toilet and private shower which wasn't offered at our other place we stayed on in Gam, so a+ for a toilet. The owners were friendly and very helpful with helping us fix/arrange anything we needed. For example, my husband had gotten food poisoning from something he ate in Bali and they helped us go to the hospital. A toilet seat was missing and they sorted it immediately. We went on three trips with them to these places: Friwen Wall, Yenbuba Jetty, Cape Kri (which is about 5 minutes away), Manta Point (twice), Melissa's Garden along with Piaynemo, and Sauwandarek village. The guide Afek was great and an amazing swimmer who could freedive quite deep. He pointed out anything he spotted and was very hospitable and accommodating. He was such a nice guy and although there was a language barrier, it was easy to tell he was really genuine. Prepare long sleeve clothes as we got swarmed by jellyfish at Cape Kri.
Other things we liked:
* You can pay using Wise for excursions which was helpful.
* The data was a bit spotty, but mostly worked on the terrace.
*The food was delicious! It was the best food we had in Raja Ampat. They ensured we had fresh fruit every day and each meal was more than filling and fresh. They had a common area where you can meet the others staying there which was great in the evening.
*They cleaned the room each day which was nice too!
*Lots of incredible sunsets!

ocean view room - on stilts above water, ,hammock, lounge chair, sunset view
huts farther apart than other locations
minimal mosquitos, rats
owner present and checks in daily, speaks english
takes credit card for extra boat bookings
house reef good - fish best on that side of island
dive boat twin engine - offering dives and snorkeling wherever you want to go for average prices
food tasty and varied - no complaints but not the best on the island
Boasting sweeping views of the ocean and free WiFi access, Rajah Ampat Dove Lodge is located in Mansuar Island in the heart of Northern Rajah Ampat dove sites.

Honest point of view:
The food is repetitive with little local seafood.
The bungalows are Ok, but not luxury by any standard.
The excursions are terribly overpriced.
But…this is normal for Raja Ampat. If you expect luxury accommodation, you will not find it in Raja Ampat. If you come to Raja Ampat, you come for the DIVING only. For accommodations, you must lower your standards and expect to pay a high price.
Having been to other Raja hotels and homestays, this one is overall pretty good as compared with other.
Service was also excellent, very flexible and good english spoken.
Diving, if you dont mind the high price, it was very well organised in small groups, flexibility to chose the dive site, nice boat.

It was great to have our own bathroom and shower, and a deck with hammocks for relaxing. The location near chicken reef was perfect for snorkeling. We were also thankful that they were willing to take us to our next location when our arranged boat did not arrive- very much appreciated!!

Non diver & avid snorkeler here. You could snorkel the beautiful reef for a few days and not get bored. Few turtles and one baby shark spotted. Be mindful of the currents. You can walk along the & jungle to get to nearby village for supplies pharmacy stuff. Paul was very helpful with everything! Thank you!
Abundance of marine life, slow pace. I’d recommend bringing a snorkel vest for Raja Ampat for visibility to boats and safety just in case caught in a current. Snorkeling here was just about as good as the diving in the area was. Recommend bringing a flashlight when traveling here. I had no problems with mosquitoes; nevertheless, I used the mosquito net every night. I recommend going to see the GIANT turtles about 20 minutes away by boat. There was a lot to do here honestly—-even if I just floated around the house reef.

i spent 3 weeks on kri , so i cant compare to other islands except Arborek (kri reef far superior). other travelers say kri next best to Pam (Fam) for reef quality. you can walk the whole island on the beach at low tide except the southeast quadrant where there are no homestays. you can also walk to neighboring Mansuar Island at low tide; i snorkeled there twice - the reef extends all the way between islands - but it is at least a kilometer and maybe a bit far for most people. no stores of any kind on kri; Mansuar has a small shop at Yenbuba (not to be confused with Yenbuba Homestay on Kri) wher yu can buy sodas, bandaids, insect repellent, toothpaste, sweets. hike up the trail on a clear day to the top of the mountain where there is a good view of the west half of the island

i stayed only on kri so can't compare it to other islands
i stayed only on kri so can't compare it to other islands
other travelers say it was above average
walk off the beach reef snorkeling surrounding the island better than any of the ten or twenty snorkel destinations i've been to in my life
homestay fun, like a hostel, meeting exceptional people from all over the world
i stayed three weekes on kri, maybe a bit long, but i was able to see all of the reef all around the island, snorkeling every day, taking off some rainy or cloudy days
take the hike up the center of the island to the lookout on a sunny day
you can snorkel the whole island from off the beach except the southwest quadrant - cape kri - which, because of changing and strong currents is better from a boat
