Paul is a wonderful host! He makes sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. The room has AC which is important to me! The breakfast was really great bannana pancakes and fresh fruit. You could walk to stores, restaurants and the harbor. I had dinner at the guest house and it was very good! I would stay again if I was in Ruing.

Mentos (the owner) is so kind and helpful. I had a challenging arrival in the rain, and he helped me to clean up and mend my pants that tore after I fell on my motorbike. This is a GREAT place to stay for solo travelers. He will help you organize a boat trip at a fair price.
Breakfast was really good. I stayed for two nights and one day it was pancakes, the other day omelette. With fruit and avocado both times!
The AC worked ok for rainy season but I imagine that the room could be hot in dry season/summer. The shower is cold — which was hard in rainy season but is probably fine in dry season. Things to be aware of!
Sign is hard to see from the road (at night) and I got a little lost.
I would absolutely stay here again.

Such a nice homestay! We really enjoyed our stay and the family is super friendly and helpful.
We also went on the Island trip with them which was also very nice. The BBQ lunch at the beach that they prepared was very good and the wife cooks very yummy. Banana pancakes for breakfast are also very good.

Mentos was great..He arranged a wonderful full day tour of the 17 Islands National Park for three of us and it was incredible. He was also able to get us locally made Arak which we enjoyed at the homestay after dinner.

I enjoyed everything there especially the very kind and amusing family! Such kind people, I enjoying sharing good laughters in the evening with Holy dad!
Place is very nice and relaxing. There is no more generator noise like mentioned in previous comments! Electricity and new roads have come to Riung making the perfect location to spend a relaxing few nights.
Breakfast is great and filling, room is big and very clean.
Laundry service available too.
